On a Duo 4K, if I enable PIP and select "splitscreen", the left picture is centered and the right one is at the top. The channels being viewed are BBC One HD and BBC Two HD 

 

When I grab a screenshot, the left hand picture is fully stretched the grab and nothing is shown on right side.

I can imagine grab not working with split screen, I doubt that is implemented at all.

 

When I try on a Dual 4K., I get a vertically stretched image on both sides, on an SF8008 I see a letterbox with correct ratio on the left, stretched on the right.

 

So I guess it is driver dependent?

but (if I get you right) the splitscreen is working for you as it "should be" - correct??

This is what I see now in SystemInfo.py

BoxInfo.setItem("MaxPIPSize", model in ("hd51", "h7", "vs1500", "e4hd") and (360, 288) or (540, 432))

It seems for VU it is not limited to 1/4 of a screen but on 540x432.... full size is here 720x576!!! And I see exceptions for some boxes but I already know there are more boxes that need limitations.... I'm afraid we need at least change the 540 432 to 720 576... (it is based on SD resolution as kind of overlay). Somehow this was 'never' maintained....

Can I change it on my own, or I'll 100% get a green screen? Or you r not sure that changing resolution gonna fix the aspect in Splitscreen mode..?

No, it is not working correctly. I presume by correctly, you mean two horizontally squashed pictures but vertically full height. I am not getting those.

Personally, for two pictures side by side I prefer correct ratio. I appreciate they will be smaller. I.e instead of "split screen", select "side by side". This works
correctly for me.

Needs investigation... so when you want to try and you know how to adapt then I appreciate it. It will not give a green screen. Instead it will give a 'driver crash'.... so it might be when you enable the PIP that the box freezes and you need to reboot... but afterwards you should be able to restore it to the previous safe values (before you're doing PIP again).

Also the "Big PiP" is not working on pli-9 the second picture is just appear on the up left corner and doesn't move nor resize, NOT to mention that it has to be just over the main picture...
PS.: On vti it was working correct [the big pip] so I assume it's not the drive that causes the problem here.

Do you means that now it is possible on VU+ to have the PiP windows to totally override the main screen display?

So except the "splitscreen mode" there's a problem with the "big pip" on openpli 9!

Maybe I should try nightly builds? Or I'll get the same thing?

You can move the PiP but if you increase it too much you can no longer move it. So try to reduce the size and you will be able to place it wherever you want.

As already mentionned there is bug somewhere, the easiest way to saw it is placing the PiP windows in the upper right corner then increase it with P+ you will see it increase and at some step the PiP windows will move by itself, when this happen you can no longer move the PIP windows. So decrease it with P- and try to move it to the left, if it doesn't work yet press P- to reduce it again and try to move it to the left. Once it move you have find the max PiP size compatible with moving the PiP windows.

 

I am using OpenPLi on my VU+ and I never succeed in having the PiP windows to cover the full screen. So only having the sound of the main screen and the full video of the PiP.

On VU+ you can only gets audio from the main screen and not from the PiP. I have been told that there is no audio decoder in the chipset that handle PiP so it is not possible to have PiP audio.

This was possible on my Xtrend ET-9000.

On Duo 4K, standard, split screen and cascade work fine for me.

In big pip, I can't resize the picture.
