How many sat tuners do you need?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Then a lot of HiSilicon based hardware will do.

I'm personally happy with the Octagon SF8008 Combo (get the Supreme, its wifi is blazing fast!) and the equivalent Zgemma's.

I also have a Qviart Dual here, but it is doing weird things at the moment. It has reception issues, and has already blown up 2 USB sticks,.

You have got to be kidding. Or are you confusing RAM with Flash?

Yes. And why is that a problem? Answer: it isn't, 1GB RAM is more than plenty, most of it will be used by cache.

Your problem is going to be there is very little, next to nothing that is "new".
New receivers that OpenPLi is working on will be shown in red here: https://openpli.org/
Notice all of the receivers in that link are Black?

The only thing "new" for 2024 to date is the Octagon SF8008 Supreme. Good luck on finding anything new this year with more than 1 GB of ram. I don't have a crystal ball, but almost 1/6th of 2024 is gone. Doubt you see many new fta enigma2 receivers in 2024.

By the way, I understand there is a COMBO and TWIN version, right?

Are tunera replaceable? In other words, if I but a COMBO can I modify it to be a TWIN and vice versa?

Don't think so. I did not see provisions for easily swapping tuners easily when I installed the interval SSD in my SF8008 Supreme.

Can you give me some reasons why to choose Octagon sf8008 Supreme vs Vu+ Duo 4k se?

Ok the vu+ is 4 years old , but what parameters are superior on Octagon vs vu+ ?

Really, I cannot give a reason to choose any FTA receiver as it is a personal decision. Make your purchase based on what you want or need.

You think so and I am sure you can’t replace the tuners. These are different models. :)

The Duo 4K SE is massive overkill if all you need is one S and one C/T tuner. Both in price and functionality. You also get an old and slow wifi chipset.
