In Topic: How to access NAS HDD?

14 December 2024 - 19:20

Hi, can you please give me some hints on how to access my HDD disk from OpenPLi HD51?

Here is my setup:

- 6 TB WD Red Plus HDD connected to Raspberry Pi 4B via USB,

- ext4 filesystem on this HDD with a shared "Foldery" folder,

- Raspberry Pi running OMV (openmediavault) software for network storage,

My HDD is accessible from Windows PC's via Windows Explorer, Total Commander etc, as guest, I think.

However I am not sure how to edit options in Mount Manager of OpenPLi.

1) What should I put as "Local mountpoint"?

2) What should I put as "Host name"? The name of the fileserver as visible from Windows Explorer under Network?

3) What should I put as "Server share"? By default it was "media/hdd". Maybe it should be "media/net"?

4) What should I put as "Mount options"?

5) What about Username / Password? Is it necessary?

Perhaps some telnet commands to help remedy the issue?

I only answered to this first question, cause Raspberry PI is linux based and many times OpenWRT in it. I can use USB dongle or USB Ext HDD also, but setting are same in OpenPli.

Samba4 and microSD or USB HDD format to ext4.

Hi,

I have ZBT-WE-826T 4G router with OpenWRT OS and 128GB microSD format to ext4. User name and password created with Telnet and movies directory created on root

This works nice with following setup on OpenPli 9.0

Expert settings/Network/MountManager

Active = on

Local mountpoint = Sharename

Mount type = CIFS

Server IP = 192.168.1.1

Hostname =

Server share = movies/

use as HDD replacement = on

Mount options = vers=3.0,sec=nntlmssp,rw

Username = *******

Password = ******

Expert settings/Recording paths

Default movie location = /media/net/Sharename/movies/

and same for all others
