ACCEPTABLE ECM TIMES ?

17 April 2016 - 18:34

Can anyone tell me please what would be the "acceptable" ECM time range before Glitching would or could occur on random channels (Sly uk 28.2E), my internet connection and ping times etc are perfect, been noticing the ecm times on glitching channels are a bit up and down.

I know that if they get too high then Glitching can occur, but I just cant remember what the acceptable ECM timings range is  , maybe someone knows eh please ?

FTA channels always seem to be perfect nomatter what, but I know thats usually the case too anyway, so forget them, I just mean the other channels.

Thanks guys

VLC NARRATOR AUDIO, HOW TO TURN IT OFF ?

15 April 2016 - 01:42

As the title says, in VLC player, is it possible to entirely switch off the voice over thingy called NAR which I think obviously means narrator or something as it keeps giving this persons voice over the sound on the channel your watching and only way I can find to switch it to English is by right clicking on the picture and choosing the english audio track rather than narrator which it seems to pick all the time but this only sets it temporary for each channel you select and then it changes back again :(

VLC is an excellent media player (one of the best in my opinion) for streaming your satellite boxes to your pc etc as I am doing, but this is a slight pain in the rear end and I would love if there was a fix to set it to english permanently.

I can remember years and years ago using VLC and there was such an option but there doesnt seem to be one nowdays, not that I can find anyway, I have been through all the settings over and over but can find any main options for it.

Does anyone know please thanks ?

Flashing enquiry/help please.

14 April 2016 - 12:04

firstly I wanted to say hello and glad to be part of the forum thanks :)

I have a genuine 1st edition VU+DUO box (not a clone).

I have a backed up copy of PLi 4 that I backed up onto my computer, I just used dreambox control centre for the purpose.

However, I notice that the backup folder is called "fullbackup_duo" and inside that folder I have another folder called "20140506_0256" and inside that folder I have another folder called "vuplus" and then inside that folder I have another folder called "duo".

Now, Its been a long time but I am pretty sure to flash an image its just the vuplus folder that should go onto a usb pen drive, isnt it ?

BUT, I am wondering if maybe because this is a fully backed up working image (I hope, lol), when flashing the backup image do I use the "fullbackup_duo" folder (with the rest inside) or do I still just only use the "vuplus" folder ?

I am terribly unsure as I havent done this in years and cant remember anything now to be honest.

Can someone advise me please thanks.
