In Topic: Subtitles ok, but no tuxtxt and no teletext viewer

7 June 2016 - 11:44

Think I can repeat the problem now, it has to do with deep standby and the wireless 'Microsoft All-in-One Media Keyboard':

- When we switch receiver off and boot WITH usb dongle NO teletext.

- When we switch receiver off and boot WITHOUT usb dongle YES teletext.

- When we switch receiver off and boot WITHOUT usb dongle, after boot plug in the dongle, YES teletext.

Rear and front usb the same. To have teletext back I really have to put in deep standby receiver again and boot without usb dongle.

When just remove usb dongle/ init 2+3, no effect and then also ... remote stops functioning.

What do you think? A problem with boot/load sequence?

Thanks

Thanks mrvica. Just tried, good work!

It is a bit receiver-tv dependent, because with the sharp set I am testing here 'LiberationMono-Regular.ttf.' seems best and seems also more constant, but with another set it looks horrible ... not sharp/bad contrast.

On my set here 'tuxtxt_prestige.ttf' is close 2nd and 'tuxtext_prestige_bd.ttf' also very good ;)

Perhaps the prestige fonts are more 'portable' (?)

Everybody should try for themselves and give some vote/ranking here on the forum!

Perhaps the firmware developers can use this feedback information somewhere for future releases (?)

It is a pity the USB/wireless keyboard is not having the coloured keys, is there perhaps some file like 'button setup' we can edit ?

Also try to change 'ShowLevel2p5' to 0.

In level 2.5 background changes per section, this is bad for contrast.

Somewhere mid 90's this decision was made. At the TV development lab we could not understand why, but it happened ...

Now you can change this back for yourself I just discovered...

Switching level 2.5 off, makes you always have a black background.

Thin yellow letters on pure black contrasted background.

Try and enjoy ... ;)

Good input Lasa, thanks. Really disliked those huge bold characters on my HD set...

I have even tried more of your list and now selected (standard for me) LiberationMono-Regular.ttf.

Beautiful and thin characters! Really 'liberation' :)

Let's make teletext more beautiful, otherwise it could disappear from our screens, like in Belgium.

For me it's part of my daily routine, reading teletext. This font really makes it more pleasant.

Zgemma from Shenzhen kindly helped. Teletext now works !!

Really a beautiful product Zgemma, very good picture quality, nice sound, good cooling for preservation of components, nice remote with clicking buttons, good heavy power adapter. Very good satellite and terrestrial reception. Microsoft multimedia wireless keyboard functions perfectly. Etc.

OpenPLi runs smoothly, also a beautiful firmware. Keyboard could do much more if only more keys would be supported :) Not all keys of remote are supported, red-green-yellow-blu. E.g. resp. -r- -g- -y- -b- typing of keyboard (?) Just an idea ...

Thanks people for all your help!
