Thanks for the updates. So OK, are you saying every time there is an update I should update via USB / new flash with restore of settings?

Thanks to Pr2 and Abu for the replies. Its the main family box which also does streaming for the rest of the house.  I'm looking for a rock solid image  and the recent VIX updates seems to be getting flaky with my box, might just need factory reset but I'm thinking killing two birds with one stone.
