The version on post 8 works fine with full HD Skin.

If it's included in your skin, then yes.
I'm using PLi-FullNightHD skin (1920x1080) and plugin is not skinned.
Which skin you're using ?

 

Only the picons in /usr/share/enigma2/picon are empty.

Did you install picons and are they activated in Cool TV setup?
My picons are showing correctly. I've installed them in /picon
 

 

I use metrixhd. All fine.

Which format and name must du the picons have?
