Suggestion: when you install the dvb-as102 meta package, it doesn't download also usbtunerhelper. I think it would make sense to include it in the list of packages in the meta.

Yup Now the tuner gets recognized - I've scanned and tuned a few channels, both SD and HD work! Thanks a lot for the help and keep up the good work

Hi Gennar1,
Upgraded the box this morning, powered off, booted up pressing the switch on the back (I waited a few mins. between the shutdown and the power on)... still no tuners detected. Firmware files are the correct ones, I checked the checksums and they match with yours. I'm suspecting that I'm missing some package / utility. Do we need usbtunerhelper for this key? I suspect the answer will most likely be no, as this is an all-in-one chip, but I feel safer to ask.
Here are the kernel messages again. Do they differ from yours, do I miss some messages?

I'm afraid to say that even doing the hard reboot (pressing the power switch on the back) the tuners do not show up under /proc/bus/nim_sockets . Just a question... was this ever tested on an ET-9000? Because I see references to Ubuntu only in this post and I really can't find a way to make it work.
EDIT: just read the above, will test it again once Gennar1 commits his changes against the 3.2.2 tree, as it doesn't make much sense now to keep testing on 3.1.0.
Thanks

Ok, a few things I noticed:
Package name for kernel-module-dvb-as102 is not consistent with the naming convention of OpenPLI, it should be named kernel-module-dvb-usb-as102 instead. Then, I believe we are still missing dependencies because the tuner is not detected at all (e.g. we are missing a frontend driver):
root@et9x00:~# cat /proc/bus/nim_sockets
NIM Socket 0:
Type: DVB-S2
Name: AVL2108
Has_Outputs: yes
Frontend_Device: 0
I2C_Device: 2
NIM Socket 1:
Type: DVB-S2
Name: AVL2108
Has_Outputs: yes
Frontend_Device: 1
I2C_Device: 3
