In Topic: New kernel?

Found this post in http://www.et-view-support.com forum...

- kernel 3.4.3
- optimize handling vtuner usb data (using VTUNER_SET_ADAPTER)
- fix scaling sharpness setting (adjusting the setting could
invalidate other settings)
- et5x00/et6x00: fix recording led status during multiple recordings
- support stretched video clipping area, allowing to zoom into 3D
content (/proc/stb/vmpeg/0/clip_stretch)
- support discrete on/off codes on rctypes 4 and 6
- improve stream client buffer level control
- improve cardreader

information is a reserved section, I think this should stay!

4 November 2011 - 08:04

After yesterday's kernel module updates, all USB tuner drivers depending on dvb-usb (like Avermedia A867, A835 and many others) may not work any more, refusing to load.

The error is this:

modprobe dvb-usb

FATAL: Error inserting dvb_usb (/lib/modules/3.0.3/kernel/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb.ko): Invalid module format

dmesg
dvb_usb: exports duplicate symbol dvb_usb_device_exit (owned by kernel)

The error is related to the fact that now dvb-usb is built into the kernel, while before it was a separate module:

SourceForge - openpli/openembedded/blobdiff - recipes/linux/linux-etxx00-3.0.3/et9x00_defconfig

For some reason, the automatic update procedure did not automatically remove the old module, so it was generating a conflict with the new embedded module.

To solve the problem it is sufficient to manually remove the old module:

opkg remove kernel-module-dvb-usb

thanks Gennar ,
work fine :)
