Recoding when programme changed time/rescheduled

11 September 2019 - 14:56

Apologies if I've missed this. If so, please point me at a link. I'm surprised it's not a FAQ.

Sometimes live events mean programmes do not start or end at the published time. I understand some channels broadcast VPS but it seems that on most UK broadcasts, DVB events to update the "now and next" display in the infobar are used to start/stop recordings instead. This may be called "Accurate Recording".

In OpenPLi, I can only find how to set either time-based recordings or use the VPS plugin. This means late-rescheduled shows get recorded in part or missed completely. Is there any way to link recording start/stop to the DVB event instead?

I'm OK with several programming languages so I don't mind installing or trying to modify plugins but I'm not great at cross-compiling and it seems like this might need fields/data adding to the timer settings which I'm not entirely sure how to do but I guess I could look at the VPS plugin for hints.

Three tasks I am failing at: can they be done?

29 January 2019 - 19:58

I suspect these can be done and I'm just failing to push the right buttons. Do you know how they can be done? In case it matters, I'm using a zgemma h9 currently on openpli 6.2 with full night HD skin (IIRC) and will upgrade to 7.0 shortly. I can do some of these with the web interface but sometimes I'd rather use the TV directly if possible.

1. I'm listening to the radio and want to check the TV EPG (same satellite only would be good enough) without stopping listening to the radio.

2. Switch from a radio station to a TV channel (I don't care what) on the same satellite so the motor doesn't turn.

3. Browse a list of only free-to-air channels on the current satellite on the TV.

Thanks in advance.

Crashes openpli 6.2 on zgemma h9.

19 December 2018 - 12:43

I've started getting repeated crashes, but only when the box is connected to the house network. A crash log is below but I have installed a recent update and still get similar-looking crashes. If I disable the networking, then there are no crashes. I think they started happening when I used my scanner (Canon MG3155), but that may be coincidence. I thought it was only when the computer connected to the scanner was on, but I had some crashes early this morning when the computer was off but I'd left the scanner on. The scanner is connected to the network so I'll try it this evening with the scanner off and computer on and see if I still get crashes. Does anyone know if openpli contains anything which listens to bonjour, bjnp, cjni, IPP or any other UDP protocol that this scanner/printer might use or abuse?

Do any of the image viewer plugins allow you to zoom in and how? I've got pictureplayer installed and can't find a way. TIA

kodi plugin and ZGemma H9 remote control problems

1 October 2018 - 10:57

So now I've resolved some network problems, I installed Kodi from "Download plugins" and all seemed to go well. Started it up and only right, up (around the OK), back and power seem to work on the remote control. Is this a known problem and can anyone suggest a fix to try, please? I ended up using ps and kill to stop kodi from the command line, as power would open the exit menu but I couldn't select anything from it!
