In Topic: Howto build unofficial pli for your unsupported receiver

17 November 2018 - 16:52

Already know all that, and now you know i know it to. Can we please move on now so we might find a solution to my homebuild images work ok

This forum doesn't suggest anything.

OpenPLi is open source, so it is free for anyone to use it, and that includes on hardware we don't support. The only thing not allowed is call the result OpenPLi, as we own that name (which is heavily violated by that fake pli site with DMM images!).

In this topic there are people that have created meta layers for hardware we don't support, so you can build your own image based on OpenPLi with their meta layers.

Neither we, nor they, provide support on such an image, if an image is available (they seem to post test images every now and then, presumably because they don't own the hardware), it is provided as is.

Possibly it's wrong with my eyes, but I also do not claim that PLI officially support it either, just that THIS forum thread suggests that there is a 3djepart support and that's I want to work on my box and it clearly says it's supported for this kind of images to build yourself.

You keep saying this type of words... but please tell me why is our old boxes with it´s antique kernel and low memory still supported on this build list and this forum area

Something seriously wrong with your eyes. We only support the DM8000 at the moment (see https://openpli.org/download/dreambox/) and that is only as long as it still builds.

Since other boxes with kernel 3.2 have no boot problem, is a wrong defconfig most likely the problem.

This is at least i can try, you never known.

@keos66: read the subject of the topic:
‘Howto build unofficial pli for your unsupported receiver’.
This is a third party, based on Openpli homebuild images.

Knowing openpli does not support this old boxes anymore officially, But what I wrote it only applies to this forum thread and the whole idea of it.

Not supported on a 2.x kernel. There is a reason why we dumped those old boxes.

If support now changed and stopped maybe time edit this build script and remove this boxes. For now, at least, I think it works to us it.

This is the list we support so far:

Dreambox:

  • DM7020HD
  • DM7020HD V2
  • DM7080
  • DM800
  • DM800Se
  • DM800Se V2
  • DM8000
  • DM500HD
  • DM500HD V2
  • DM520
  • DM820
  • DM900
  • DM920
