Missing radio stations for Schotland

24 February 2023 - 11:26

Hi,

I've noticed that there are many Scottish radio stations not responding.  I don't know why this is.  Could one of your developers correct this issue? Also when I zap a particular radio station, it either fails to respond, or returns me to a previous station, or will not permit me to zap the next station on the list.

Thank you for attending to this issue.

All the best,

David Goudie,

Grangemouth

Central Scotland.

Thank You

Hi,

I’ve been trying to follow the latest developments to OpenPLi 8.1.  I’ve downloaded bouquets and updates.  I realise that there are lots of things to repair and to get right as far as possible.  I’m grateful to those actively involved in the development of this OpenPLi 8.1 and acknowledge the amount of man hours they have put in.  I know that this project is limited by the Linux and C++ and the number of individuals who can program in these languages.  The sooner that a streamlined package is developed, preferably in one language, the better for all of us users.  I appreciate the good will work supplied by the volunteer developers.  Unfortunately, well-meaning ‘amateurs’ have messed up some of the related apps and programming, and are probably responsible for the reduction in the number of channels which I’m currently receiving.  Nevertheless, to all of those professional volunteers, I am, like many thousands of other hobbyists, very grateful for their efforts.  Keep up the good work!

Would using a super computer, like the one owned by Google, for a short period of time, help to simplify and perhaps modify/restructure/eliminate the morass and pitfalls of current programming which is restricting the progress of OpenPLi 8.1 or newer versions?  This is such a good asset that to suddenly find developers running out of patience/new ideas, due to the complexity of the accrued concepts, would be a great tragedy.  Time to take stock of how far we have come, to identify the key people/specialists in certain aspects of the programming, and to teach/instruct other younger programmers to maintain a deliberate progress in either the Linux full program, or C++ full program in future versions of this build.

Kind regards,

David Goudie.
