I had exactly the same issue with the remote control not functioning on the openpli-python3-ustym4kpro-20220414_multiboot image
The web interface could be used to control the receiver but the remote control didn't function at all.
Only Hisi Front Panel Button Controls was shown in input devices with no reference to a remote control.
can you also test the develop image?
The driver has been updated with regard to RCU handling.
Obviously there is a problem
I've flashed the develop image openpli-develop-ustym4kpro-20220415_multiboot.zip which appears to have the same issue with the remote control not responding.
The web interface can be used to control the receiver but the RCU doesn't function.
The remote control works fine in the stable release openpli-8.1-release-ustym4kpro-20220410_multiboot.zip
