yes the DM7020 are E1 based receivers, there were some test E1/E2 combined images for these boxes a few years ago but it ran like crap. (Still have a DM7020 in it's box from almost 10 years ago my self).

well according to the post I quoted above the ATV image is coming back as vulnerable to this. tested with the method outlined in the PC world article here.

Well, how to say it politely?OpenWebif is still a very capable a user-friendly plugin even when the AutoTimer function only works as a browser.
Progress isn't exactly what OpenPLi is into.
They prefer to take working code, rewrite it, after a phase where the new code doesn't work yet ending up with working code again.
If you are lucky it even produces the same result as before, just a little bit more complicated.
I could not agree more, Pli are well known for this, even if the masses want to disagree.

normally with shutdown it writes epg to hdd, with startup reading epg back to memory
Yes thats what it is supposed to do, so it's likely that either part of that routine is not taking place (probably reloading the EPG from the storage device upon bootup).
