It is clear for me now.
So I have to stay on Enigma 7.3, if I want a working version of HbbTV, because my platform vendor doesn't update there HbbTV solution drivers and it is not OpenSource

I had the same question, what is better in version 8
It seems that nobody knows, so why is there a version 8
It tried serveral times version 8, but HBBTV was immediately hanging on my vusolo4k.
So I had to restored version 7 every time.
I do not understand why existing functions that works already for years, suddenly not work anymore in new releases.
