Question regarding Hotkey Editing

10 January 2022 - 14:51

By default some hotkeys have a hotkey-menu-list with several list-items (see attached image for example).

Most list-items in the hotkey-menu-list are on number-keys (here in example the number-key 1 to 5).

But some are by default on "color-keys" (here in example all four are used: red, green, yellow and blue).

When I do Hotkey Editing (as described in https://wiki.openpli.org/Hotkey ) I can only assign list-items to the number-keys.

My question:

Can I add hotkey list-items and assign them color-keys? E.g. by manually editing the settings file (config.misc.hotkey entries)?

Questions regarding satellites.xml, blindscan, and lyngsat parser

10 January 2022 - 13:36

I maintain my personal satellites.xml list of satellites and transponders (custom at /etc/enigma2/satellites.xml), as this is what I am used to from my non-Engima2 receiver.

So I wanted to know what are the possible (or recommended) ways to use satellites.xml.

1. What is recommended/possible with editing satellites.xml from PC?

Currently I edit satellites.xml from PC (with text-editor or XML-editor) and then reboot enigma.

Can I somehow reload the satellites.xml? UI plugin, or some command via telnet, or some HTTP/Web-command, or something other?

Are there any PC-tools for editing satellites.xml?

2. Can I edit transponders in satellites.xml directly on the Box?

Is there any way with the UI on the box (e.g. plugin) to add/remove/change transponders in satellites.xml?

3. Adding transponders from blindscan to satellites.xml

How can I add transponders from blindscan to satellites.xml?

4. Lyngsat parser

There exists a Lyngsat parser, and I wanted to know:

Is the Lyngsat parser open-source, and if so where can I find it?

GigaBlue UE 4K Bug Report: Sporadic glitchy live video, "FBC automatic" chooses...

9 January 2022 - 17:04

I'm tired. I wanted to investigate this further, write a proper bug report, but I have enough. No more firmware updates. No more fresh installs. No more reentering all the settings. So here, you get this info, and then I'm done for today. (Maybe I investigate it further next week. Maybe next year. Maybe never.)

First problem:

Sometimes I get glitchy video. On some installations I get glitchy video on the built-in tuner, and the plug-in tuner is fine. On some installations it is the other way round. (See images). And sometimes the OpenPLI installation just fine.

When I have glitchy video on the build-in tuner, it usually affects all programs. On the plug-in tuner it is better for some, worse for others...

Second problem:

I have Unicable with one channel assigned to Tuner A, and one channel assigned to Tuner B.

What should happen e.g. with PiP?

I watch two different programs from the Unicable LNB, I should get one prog on Tuner A, and prog one on Tuner B. This works in GigaBlue original software.

On some OpenPLI installations it works like that.

But on some other OpenPLI installations I get Tuner A, and (virtual) Tuner C, both trying to use the same Unicable channel. Sometimes A win. Sometimes C wins. Sometimes none show video.

(I never got a installation were both worked in OpenPLI - so yeah, maybe that helps...)

Question for understanding: Why 4 times "All Satellites (USALS)" in settings?

9 January 2022 - 16:22

With my new GigaBlue UE 4K I'm having strange problems: Sometimes garbled video, sometimes "FBC automatic" with "Unicable" chooses the wrong tuner... (Will try to find out more before posting)

So installed a couple times a new firmware, setup my all necessary LNBs (again and again and again and again...) and I always ask myself:

Who needs 4 different times the "All Satellites (USALS)" setting? I personally don't really need that (I only set up satellites I can receive), but if I would use it, one time would be enough, or not? Is there anywhere a manual (or other document) why there is four times this setting? I'm just curious (no need to change it): Who needs that and for what?

(In contrast, I probably could use "Selecting Satellites (USALS)" 4 times, to setup priorities of different dishes...)

Feature request: dB SNR values for GIGA DVB-S2X NIM (TS3L10) Tuner

8 January 2022 - 22:25

After the recent recommendation here in the forum i bought a GigaBlue receiver, but with an additional Dual DVB-S2X MultiStream Plug-In-Tuner (TS3L10).

Unfortunately the TS3L10 does not display dB values for SNR, only percentage.

I compared the percentage from the TS3L10 to the built-in-Tuner "DVB-S2X NIM(45308X FBC)", and as far as I can tell they use the identical conversion between percent and dB.

Would it be possible to add the conversion from percent to dB for the GigaBlue TS3L10 Tuner (same as Giga 45308X FBC)?

If you need more info, please let me know!

Kindest regards!
