If you use SLAAC for IPv6, the box needs rdnssd to pick up the IPv6 DNS being broadcasted, which isn't available at the moment.

I flashed OpenATV into the Zero again and indeed it's an IPv6 vs IPv4 DNS problem. That firmware picked up the v6 servers and that's the reason it works. I'ma go smash this router lol...

OK, there is definitely something wrong with this router. It seems the only reason the rest of the devices work on the network is because name resolution works over the router's IPv6 DNS server. Since OpenPLi does not pick up IPv6 DNS by default, name resolution fails over IPv4.

Hello,

I've come across a strange issue. I flashed OpenPLi into a Vu+ Zero v2 and name resolution does not work out of the box, with my router at least. When I set a 3rd party DNS like google, it works fine. This router has no issues with Windows10, Android, iOS and MacOS machines, only with this box.

Maybe its OS is issuing odd DNS requests that the router doesn't like? It's an ISP supplied Compal CH7465LG-LC modem. When flashing another image like OpenATV, the same box works fine. I did cat /etc/resolv.conf and it has the correct nameserver entry.

In Topic: Amiko Viper 4K - Latest Image Release

I managed to get in touch with someone who is in direct contact with the Chinese devs for these boxes. He said they never replied, so don't expect BSP to be released like... ever. Thus, there won't be any openpli images available for newer Amiko boxes. This includes all 4k models, which seem to be changing more frequenty than I change my underwear. Remember the V20? It's all gone and now there is V30.

I'm sorry to say but if you're looking for an openpli compatible box from Amiko, look somewhere else.
