In Topic: Build Script for Openpli Enigma2 on Ubuntu 10.4 32 Bit

File "/usr/local/e2/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/InfoBarGenerics.py", line 137, in __init__
eActionMap.getInstance().bindAction('', -maxint -1, self.actionA) #highest prio
OverflowError: in method 'eActionMap_bindAction', argument 3 of type 'int'

>>The second one is called enigma2pc, is forked from "Raider05 / enigma2pc" (which in turn refers to "nobody9/openpliPC"), which is far more up to date and builds fine but fails on startup with a green screen on a Python script.

Fix for x64 systems, when only do calling Green Screen.

Please, try and write here the result.

I tried the latest pull from your git repository and now everything is working properly on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS x86_64, including decrypting BISS with the latest OScam version (9038) !!!

(Installed as VirtualBox client and using vtuner to share the tuner of my OpenELEC system)

Next step is installing Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64 on another VirtualBox client and trying that and, if it is also successful, dropping OpenELEC in favour of installing Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64, Enigma2 and XBMC Gotham :)

I am looking also to convert the HD Glass skin to work on Ubuntu (if I can - I think it also involves recompiling binary files, it is not just the Python part ...)

As for the differences with the Opendreambox/enigma2 git, unless Xine is dropped in favour of OpenGL it is a struggle to keep up to date with the current version, and even then it is not easy :(

I will be back with more results

Regards to you all

Phil

Hi all !

Does anybody know if the openpli-merge branch was ever merged back to master ?

Also, what would be required to get the project updated to the latest OpenPLi sources or - even better - keep it in sync ?

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

I think I opened the branch, but I cannot answer your question. It's too long ago. The problem is that the sources differ quite much. There are many things that had to be changed in the OpenPliPC sources. One example are the paths (the python sources for example are located under /usr/local/... and on the box under /usr/lib/) another are the changes for the xine lib.

There are several changes in e2 sources every week. You have to look at each commit and try to merge it in to the OpenPliPC sources. That's much work. Even more when you don't have time for it every day.

I tried to make maintenance much easier some weeks ago. But I'm still at the beginning. Recording works but not watching live tv. Currently I have no time to work on it.

So I think at the moment raider05s git might be more up-to-date, but I don't know it. Try both and take that git, that works better for you.

Hello,

thank you very much for your response !

I realised that there are two different projects going on at the same time on Crazycat69's git repository, which is the one that looks the most active.
The first one is called openplipc, is forked from the  "nobody9/openpliPC" repository and works fine on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64 in my VirtualBox (using xshm for video driver).

The second one is called enigma2pc, is forked from "Raider05 / enigma2pc" (which in turn refers to "nobody9/openpliPC"), which is far more up to date and builds fine but fails on startup with a green screen on a Python script.

I will try to get the latest release fron the opendreambox git and diff those to see what changes, in the (vain) hope that I will be able to identify a synchronisation pattern.

Regards to all of you who keep the project alive.

Phil

PS: If I manage to find a way to sync with the master OpenPLi sources, the next step will be to try and make OpenPLiPC to an XBMC/OpenELEC plugin :)

Hello !

I am at a loss... I read the whole thread and I don't know which git repository to pull. The thread suggests the repository by nobody9 https://github.com/nobody9/openpliPC but this one hasn't seen a single commit for a year !

On the other hand,m there is Raider05 's repository https://github.com/Raider05/enigma2pc that seems to be updated regularly (last commit was June 21st).

Any help would be appreciated !

Regards

Phil
