I am using a VU+ solo with OpenPLi 3.0 image


I’ve been trying to stream from my VU+ solo by Webif.  My aim is to use the computer as a server to stream to a Panasonic Viera.

On the webif plugin I have set my http port to 1234 (it seems you have to have something) and my streaming port to 80.  I have tried with both http authentication on and off.

Right clicking on the TV symbol I was originally getting a vlc error message of “VLC is unable to open the MRL”.  According to vlc this is because of firewall settings but that is a load of ********

Downgrading to vlc 0.86i because that is what I read is what works best the error message simply says it is unable to open the stream.  The text message states:
“main error: no suitable access module for `http://192.xxx.xxx.xx:80/1:0:1:C26:1E78:71:820000:0:0:0:'

I have also tried TS Dreambox player but that tells me that my webinterface plugin is less than 1.5 and I have to update it.  Another load of … as I updated it to 1.7

I have also tried to try Dreambox_VLC_Streamer_v1.2 but that is much the same – it cannot connect.

I am using a Buffalo Air station router with the satellite connected by LAN but there is nothing that I can see in the settings which should stop anything.

Is there anything I am missing?
