I did not ignore your advice. The auto backup was only a couple of kb only and hence did no contain the plugins. So I rather than beat my head against a brick wall and waste both of our time. I found a way around my issue.  I knew pretty quick that overwriting folders was not the way to progress.

Yes with a virgin flash configure the tuner and uploaded bouquets all worked including the VFD or LED display or what ever its called.

I ended up doing it the hard way. downloaded all the plugins and resetup. Was probably easier in the end.

I must be overwriting something when I moved the various folders. I think I moved what I could using FTP usr/engima2 and a folder from etc can remember which one.

Tries changing skin ans some channels display different "number" of charachters but are all 888. Im going back to virgin stock and doing a dump. I'll then over right and start dropping over some (possible) relavent directories until I find what works. Would you think an enigma reboot is enough for a test or do you have to do a deep power cycle. 

I'd prob have set it up by now from scratch but curiosity is killing me.

OK did a virgin flash followed by a autobackup plugin self executable but the problem has remained. If I watch DVBT I get full illuminations of 8888 on the display. wondering what files are involved in the display or is it hardcoded into the image. The display is function normally during boot. counting up etc so it is functional

I ran the advanced backup, i think has almost everything selected less temp and a few junk settings. I did a full reboot after the host change 

Does the auto backup cover plugins and their settings and general box settings. I'll get time later in the day to go back to the start and try again
