Hi!
I've several cronjobs running on one of my boxes (ET4x00 @ openPLI 4.0) and they fill up my messages file in /var/log. (which isn't so nice 
)
this line in /etc/syslog.conf
*.*;auth,authpriv,cron.none -/var/log/messages
should do the job. At least on my debian machine it does.
Of course i restarted /etc/init.d/syslog after saving the changes in the syslog.conf file.
Anybody an idea why this is not working?
