In Topic: kodi pvr addons

21 February 2018 - 18:54

Hi, I do not know which Kodi is the base for the Kodi on our STBs but at least VU removed the PVR section intentionally. ciao

exactly, the whole pvr section in addons is completely gone.

i have activated tvheadend in kodi before and all i had to do was to go to TV in main menu, then go to "enter addons" find tvheadend, enable it and configure.

then it just worked.

but pvr section is totally empty and that sucks.

Press long pvr/video/list button... or short blue

i dont get it.

when kodi is started, i go to TV, then i get a text "you did not setup pvr yet..." and i select "enter addons" then the pvr list of addons is empty so i have no pvr addon to enable.

i have searched in the addon repository if i can find it to install but it is not there.

i have also compared to what kodi on another type of device looks like and there is something missing.

so, where is all the pvr addons ?

In Topic: vu+ solo 4k & choppy audio (possibly aac related)

an update to this old thread.

if i turn on 3d surround sound option in settings then the choppy audio goes away completely.

my guess is that this is some kind of audio bitrate issue and turning on 3d surround via hdmi or spdif (both connected for testing purposes) makes the occasional audio dropouts disappear.

some channels are much worse than others and it feels like a bitrate issue because if there is less going on audio wise then it takes longer for sound to go silent for a few seconds.

also enabling the downmix setting does absolutely nothing on/off doesn't matter at all

on my old miraclebox i had to enable aac downmix (not sure of the exact name in settings since i don't have box in front of me right now), no downmix resulted in no audio at all on AAC stereo (looks like 5.1 sound is only sent as dolbydigital and ac3)

I assume you're using downmix? The decoding must be done in software then, afaik DVB SoC don't have an AAC decoder. If the bitrate is high, it may be too much.

most likely yes.

on my old box (mbtwin) i had to use aac downmix or i would not get sound on channels with aac.

on vusolo4k there is no difference if i select aac downmix or not, i assume it uses downmix all the time since that's most likely the only option.

i don't get why it should have a hard time to keep up, i mean it is (if i remember correctly) a dual core cpu and a fast one too.

plus if it is true then there is no fix for it and that would suck a lot.
