it doesn't go off completely.. its a deep sleep tied to HDD hibernation simply to save power - same as Win7 on my EeeBox (which i use for some MS only applications)

up till v7 I had no issues so will disable the smb v1 on the MS and do a fresh 7.2 install on the solo4k to compare

Im using the fstab since donkey days (PLi v3)  ;)

my Synology talks 2.1 to Win7

I'll do fresh install this weekend to make sure the upgrade didn't messed it up but it seems to be something fishy with the cifs mout in v7

in the meantime what in your opinion (considering we have a mixed environment MS/NAS/STB boxes)  is the best practice these days to mount?

Yes I do expect it to work the same as its been working in v3 v4 v5 v6

In v6 when my NAS or PC goes to sleep it doesn't bothers the tuner to list /media/hdd/movie resources

and if I go to my mounted folder like NAS or EeeBox then it wakes it up - there is a delay but its totally normal

v7 behaves differently.. it doesn't wake them up.. it simply freezes

In relation to SMB I do have SMB1 enabled on the boxes for legacy reasons - I don't need it any more so I may try disable it and see if it improves anything but at the same time v2 is supported

my Win10 talks 3.0 to Synology and 2.0 to W7 - not sure why PLi talks 1.0 - maybe this is the issue

I can not share mount result from 7.1 as it doesn't finish neither via gui or cli while in 6.2 its flying it
