Problem installing plugin from tmp folder, forced to download old verion from feed

12 May 2014 - 22:21

Hi guys,

I have a Vu+ Solo receiver running openpli 4. I have been using the v0.6.2 crossepg plugin from the openpli feed, this version has a bug where the plugin gets stuck. The bug is fixed in version 0.7 which is not on the openpli feed. I've downloaded the .ipk and placed this in my tmp folder and tried installing it within the menu but the receiver downloads the version from the feed. I have also tried to install the plugin via telnet but it does the same and downloads the old bugged version from the feed

Does anyone know how I get the receiver to install the version I am telling it to install?

VU+ SOLO bricked/not booting after latest update

25 August 2013 - 16:26

Hi guys,

After running the latest update within the setup menu, the update downloads/box reboots but then I get no output whatsoever. The LED on the front is permanently blue. I can't FTP into the box and it doesn't register on the network after the latest update.

I've had OpenPLI on my VU+ SOLO for a few months now. The original image on my USB when I first installed OpenPLI is dated 16/06/2013. I have used the update option inside the setup menu a few times previously but the latest update seems brick the box.

I powered off the box and plugged in the USB stick with the image from 16/06/2013 which brings the box back to life. I then updated again but chose the option not to automatically reboot. I then manually rebooted and the box wouldn't output. I can't understand why the box is getting bricked with the latest update. I can't even ftp into it to get the error log.

Any help would be appreciated.
