Do you use picons? And are those installed on the harddisk? You have to install those in flash (plenty of space) or on a USB stick (I have a USB stick in the back of my boxes, for picons and the autobackup data).

It could well be that the picon lookup may also cause the recording hickup. Are you using a standard PLi skin, or some third party skin (possibly with it's own picon renderer)?

in what concern to picons, i'm not sure where they are. Some channels have, others not. I'm using the standard PLI skin.

I've made some corrections in the user settings and the hickups are less notable. They are present when i'm recording one channel and seeing other on same satellite. When i zap to the channel that i'm recording the hickup appear.

Later i will put here prints screens of my config's.

My config for Hispasat satellite:

Only one the same? And you don't have it when zapping on another sattelite? In that case it chould be a faulty LNB.

As far as i could see, it only happens when i switch to the channel that are being recorded. If i change to another satellite it will stop because i have only one dish with a quad LNB.

I presume that it could be configs on the LNB under VU+ Duo menu, but a faulty LNB couldn't be excluded.

I doubt the swap file is to blame, but if you think it is, simply switch that off and see what happens. I've never had a swapfile active (or needed) on my Vu Duo.

I also never seen hickups in recordings when zapping. You don't have some form of permanent timeshift active by any chance that might interfere?

I agree with you, i will follow your clue about switching off the swap file. At this moment the swap file is using the same hard disk drive used for recordings.

Another related issue is when i zap from one channel to another, in the same satellite, the zapping will take 2 or 3 seconds because it will read something from the hard drive and since the hard drive is in power safe mode, it will wake the hard disk, read something from there and then finally switch the channel. I presume that this issue happens when i zap from channels that are in different transponders. Maybe it will be the picons, i don't know. What i'm sure is when i used BlackHole image with a usb device attached to deal with the swap file this matter doesn't exist.

Do you think that a format in the hard drive could solve this matter?

I'm having a strange behavior when i make a recording to hard disk with my Vu+ Duo and the OpenPli 3 firmware.

When i'm recording channel A and seeing channel B, every time that i change channel, the channel A recording becomes freeze for a second or so.

I suppose that this happens because i have the swap file reading and writing to the same hard drive instead of an usb device.

Is there any way to attach and configure the swap file to use an usb device instead an internal hard drive?

Regards,

Any suggestions about how to solve this annoying matter?
