In Topic: timers bug - latest build sat 24th mar 2012 vuDuo

Does this apply to dreambox as well? (dunno what vuDuo is, I assume it's another box?)

I have the exact same problem on my dm800hd, but the mentioned fix did not remedy the problem. Still the same.
The file ClockToText.* did not exist on my box, that's why I wonder if it's applicable on dreambox...

it did work for me on the VUDuo+ which is another form of STB. have you tried deleting the errant timers.xml first.

In Topic: Greenscreen since today on Hustler, Thor 1W

23 March 2012 - 22:10

That is already known.... and likely fixed tomorrow... See: http://openpli.git.s...igma2;a=summary

(Shall we start our builds for this one??? as this evening we may receive more green screen complaints...)

I don't know if this is related but since last night's update any HD channels are saying no tuner. i was on an HD channel (watching it) during an online update. finished update, then rebooted as normal. signal strength went from 99% to 0% then it said no tuner. changed channel to SD channel, ok, back to HD, same thing again. i've tried this on both tuners and no HD channels come up.

In Topic: Xmltv and / or Crossepg on same box

11 January 2012 - 04:21

Well, I am not an expert in explaining the differences but XMLTV is enough.
CrossEPG just makes use of "XMLTV engine" but is absolutely not necessary.

Thanks Robinson for clarifying this for me - I will get rid of crossepg.

crossepg can also get the EPG over the air for a number of providers.

In Topic: Ethernet speed

What do you call "the network"? If it's wireless, your mileage may vary
very wildly.

Otherwise, you should be able to attain almost 100 mbs (~ 10mbyte/s). What
do you use for file transfer? These figures are for using ftp or http.
Using samba/smb/cifs they're much lower due to the overhead of the protocol.

Also if you transfer a file, take the source disk in account, if it's very
slow, or you're transferring from usb stick, compact flash card or internal
flash memory, don't expect miracles ;-)

thanks.. All 100mbit/s ethernet! and it's linux server connecting to the cifs share on the 1tb hdd in the duo. I was using gnome's file explorer.

will try rsync and see how that goes.
