I allow myself to quote you on this. I currently have a VU+Duo4KSE with one DBV-C tuner and looking for another less expensive solution. Is this Octogon supreme have a CI card reader ? I saw it has a CA reader but I am not techy enough to know if it is the same. For info, I have a paid subscription at VOO provider and have put a card from their box into the VU+ and it works OK (except I need to put it back every 2 months to get updated rights)

this is not due to your STB but to the file in which video and audio tracks are compressed, thus loosing quality especially for the sound (especially for mp4 files with a small size).

What I do to try to remedy this:

1. use audacity software to increase the sound track up to a level there is no distortion then export the sound track to a mp3 file

2. use mkvtoolnix software to replace the original sound track wiith the updated mp3 file

When you used to it, it takes +/- 1 min. to do that for one file.

I had the same as you. As said by @Frans B, HW issue probably due to capacitors ; I could not repair it myself due to lack of knowledge. Nothing will work until this is resolved.

google on "vu+duo2 dead capacitor"

opkg update  and then going back to menu point 4 then 8 and applying the update.
