Might it be possible to send commands to the following device path? /dev/hdmi_cec
If so, if someone gave me an example of how such a command would look like it would be great.

Hi,
Gigablue is not officially supported by Openpli, you should ask this on your image provider.

Thanks for the hint. You are probably right regarding the way I asked my question.
Actually the first question that arises for me is how to use the hdmi test plugin via a console (e. g. via telnet) and at least that question ist about the hdmi test plugin and neither about openpli/openmips or something vendor specific. Even if Gigablue/openmips doesn't allow to reprogram a button on the remote it should be easy to send hdmi cec commands via e.g. an android smarthpone widget.

Hello,
openmips hdmi cec (at least turning the tv on/off via receiver) works on my Gigablue Quad HD in connection with Samsung TVs.
I'd like to be able to turn on and off the tv via a button (or two buttons) on the gigablue remote control. The reason: I'd like to listen to radio without having to turn on the tv or using a second remote.
Help appreciated!
