just my  5 cents on this...

As i understood MastaG is not releasing his builds as official OpenPLi releases. But as an own build based on openpli.

I think you should honor his effort, that a lot of people are now able to use your OpenPli-Images in old or not supported devices, "if".

Also no one is expecting the OPenPli Team to give support on his images. He does it by himself. This is a board like a community and people are helping each other.
But for me sounds like the openPli team is not amused that he is spending time on something, which the PLI team isn't interested anymore and just focusing on people who are able

to buy new (expensive) devices.

So please let him do his great job... and let him get people lucky...

Sorry for this, if it does not fit in the board rules. (then please delete)

Hi blaugrana, that's correct. The gstreamer 1.x images don't leave much space on 64MB receivers like the DM800.

I always format an usb stick with ext2 and copy over the root-filesystem.

Then change the autoexec.bat file in the bootpartition to read: root=/dev/sda1 rootfstype=ext2 rw rootdelay=10

The advantage of using an usb drive over the internal hdd is that the hdd can enter standby mode.

If you use the internal hdd for storing the rootfilesystem, you'll have it spinning up every few minutes.

Hi MastaG
I've used Flashexpander till now with my DM800HD.
And i was not able to install crossep till now as I just get errors when downloading and trying to install.
Could Flashexpander be the issue?

Would you mind to explain exactly how you expand your root on a USB Stick?

Thank you very much
