In Topic: OpenPLi 6.2 - Kodi - movie playback doesn't start

Kodi on E2 box uses the E2 player to play MKVs.... here no issue...

Hi!

I'm aware of that. When I go to E2 media player and directly start the movie, there is no issue then.

The Kodi plugin is configured to play movies using E2player. In my opinion (I'm not a programmer) there is a problem when Kodi tries to call E2player and from unknown reason, E2player doesn't start. Such situation happens more frequently when Kodi is running some time. When I restart the box, it is more likely to succesfully start the movie. I've report this problem in Kodi forum and they point me to go here... How to diagnose where is problem located - in Kodi or OpenPLi ?

I'd like to mention about another issue - maybe it is somhow connected with previos one. Somteimes it happens, quite often, that Kodi randomily quits, whlie I browse the movie list. Is this known issue?

I had no such problem in OpenPLi 6.1

Hi!

Of course I know, I don't need Kodi to play .mkv files. But I like Kodi's functionality, like movie library, movie scrapers etc. Can you recommend something similiar, what works fine in Enigma2?

I had no such problems with OpenPLi 6.1.

I also have dedicated hardware player with Kodi installed, but since Kodi is available in sat receiver i try to reduce number of devices under my TV :)

In Topic: OpenPLi 6.2 - Kodi - missing NFS client

My network folder if mounted in enigma2 under /media/net/folder.
My question is what is better:
- to access network files using  /media/net/folder
- or, to mount the network folder independently in Kodi?

I can see in Kodi (enigma2), that there is option to mount network folders over SMB, or DLNA etc., but there is no NFS.
For example, in Kodi for Windows, there is such feature.

Thank you for the answer.

To be more specific, I have to add, that there is NFS client installed within OpenPLi, but there is no NFS client in Kodi (as far, as I know, Kodi has its own client).
