what is the best way to do the full image backup on DM8000 ?

Hi,
thanks for the info. I've been using this in the past but when it come to flash the image back, the box was not responsive after reboot (was like shutting off itself after few seconds of boot up). This was v 0.9 thou. Now I've found v2.3, installed and did the backup. Will see when it comes to restore... hopefuly it will work

Before you make a backup add the following line to tthe following file: /etc/fstab
/dev/mtdblock2 /boot jffs2 defaults 0 0
ORIGINAL PLI fstab looks like:
rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /var/volatile tmpfs defaults 0 0
MODIFIED FOR DFLASH:
rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0

thanks a lot. I will do the changes as recommended by you. I did few backups with the newer version but did not try to restore yet. It is probably useless without your changes thou.

One more question, the string is bit different than the one in the example. The ro parameter exist in the example file. Does it make a difference which one I use?

Remember this was a reply on a posting from 2012! A lot has changed and the 'good old' dFlash has reached version 13.6. As of version 12.6 the build in time bomb has been eleviated. The plugin dFlash however can't be installed on OpenPli 4.0 due to some dependancies. Use the Athoik Dream-Fullbackup.sh to install these files. Next install dFlash 12.6 or higher. Works like a charm...
