Flash the image with a null-modem serial cable.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Does exist another way to flash the image? i try to flash by null-modem serial cable and the DB500s doesn´t speak me. when i push the "connect" botton i switch the DB 500s off and then on and still dead.

Then you have a serious problem. You could try connecting a standard serial cable, start a serial terminal on your PC (on Windows HyperTerminal for example, not sure what the speed settings are), and see if you get any output from the box at all.

If the bootloader is damaged, you'll have to resort to a JTAG interface to access the flash chip. And if memory serves me, a DM500 doesn't have a JTAG connector on board, it's needs treatment with a soldering iron by someone that has the skills to do so...

You still have one possibility. Use the Dreamup version which I added here. That's the one without the UTP connection and often solves many specific problems.

Good

It is fairly rare for DBs to die unless it was running clonekill images on a clone. 90% of people that have trouble with dreamup cause it themselves, using the wrong cable type (straight serial rather than null-modem), wrong com port, disabled com ports in BIOS, USB to Serial adapters without proper drivers installed, etc...

If nothing seems to work, try another PC & verify cable type. I've probably seen 100 people over the years that swear up and down they are using a null-modem cable only to eventually find out they weren't, they were actually using a normal serial DB9 cable...

Good luck,
