usb-dtt is supported in OpenPLI 2.0 beta for VU Duo. Not all sticks work, but many do work.

pretty confusing all right, only drivers for sundtek media pro usb stick on server.

no, sundtek is actually the only one which needs custom stuff. The normal drivers are in the standard feed:

opkg list v4l-*

sorry, can you explain standard feeds to me, I have been looking in plugins, packet management etc. but can't find opkg list v4l.

open a telnet session to your box
login on your box
run the telnet command "opkg list v4l-*" from your box

ok, I have done that, I get a lot of text like dvb module etc, what do I do now to pick and enable dvb stick, sorry for not having any knowledge of this telnet format.

google the brand+type of your module, with v4l in the search terms, and you should be able to find out which v4l driver supports it (if any)

can you post the list here please? i have not installed openpli 2.0 right now but if it has my hardware driver i will put it, it is the best!!!

I found a (probably) suitable driver for my USB-stick, what is the next step to install these modules, just opkg install v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005 - 0.0+hg20100904-r7.1 - dvb-usb-af9005 kernel module ? (In this case).

The modules I need are

v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005 - 0.0+hg20100904-r7.1 - dvb-usb-af9005 kernel module; Driver for Afatech 9005 DVB-T USB1.1 stick						
v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005-remote - 0.0+hg20100904-r7.1 - dvb-usb-af9005-remote kernel module; Standard remote control decoder for Afatech 9005 DVB-T USB1.1 stick

Sticks that worked for me:
1. Hauppauge Nova-T stick, dib0700 chipset.
2. Hauppauge Nova Mini Stick, smsusb chipset.
3. Sinovideo DVB-T stick, AF9015 chipset with AF9013 demodulator.
4. Crypto Redi PC 100 stick, smsusb chipset.

Sticks that don't work for me:
1. Maxx DVB-T stick, AF9015 chipset with TDA18218 demodulator (not supported)
2. Crypto Redi PC 50 stick, AF9015 chipset with MXL5007T unknown revision 3f (not supported)

So, as you can see, even though AF9015 is supported, it doesn't mean your stick will work. drivers need to support base chipset, tuner and demodulator.

In all above sticks that worked, I also had to manually add firmware files in /lib/firmware, and enable the loading of correct module by adding a rule in /etc/modutils.

Connect your dvb-t stick to your vu duo, upload output of /proc/bus/usb/devices , and I'll try to help you with correct packages.

My stick reported itself in windows as AF9005,well it installed the driver AF9005, but the VU+ tells me

This stick is already at least 3-4 years old, it was a very cheap stick from China, just about € 5 on eBay.It has no commercialname on the package

i asked that because af9005 is an old chip that af9015 replaced it. have you tried to do modprobe v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005 ?
what is the result of doing that?
opkg install v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005

I installed the packages v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005 and v4l-dvb-module-dvb-usb-af9005-remote, when I insert the stick nothing happens, it isn't shown on the tuner configuration, how to start to get things going?
