I use Linux Mint now, but once I used Arch Linux.

Hi,

Whenever you see the above message, tune to any other channel .. you'll notice the spinner will appear and e2 will hang.
Anyway to fix that?
I know i have to delete those channels and do a fresh scanning though.  :)

I did, the problem still there.

That used to occur with "tune failed" error which was fixed already.

Was that issue sorted after the 2nd attempt of fixing it?

I already tried it but still the same.
By the way, e2pc crashes with weird errors lately.
[eFixedMessagePump] Got event but queue is empty
[eFixedMessagePump] read error No such file or directory
Any clue?

roxette, on which channel and from which satellite is this happening?
I can record from the screen, where it can be seen that e2pc still exits such channels when switching to working ones. Roughly the same thing happens when switching from a channel with an unstable signal to an operating one.
Of course, it is very bad that you have to wait up to 1 minute. But in the receiver, in a similar situation, the hardware decoder is engaged in this, which in no way affects the performance of the enigma2 kernel. In our case, until libxine2 decides what to do with this rubbish, the spinner will spin or everything will stop altogether. However, enigma does not hang, but continues to wait.
libxine2 is not designed to play junk from a FIFO at all. No wonder the xine developers are actively updating the library for working with dvb.
Did I make it clear wats happen?

1455,Thanks for the clarification.

Actually that issue is about 3 years old.
If you remember the following post

You said it's hard to catch that error but it's fixed now.
The spinner isn't shown after "tune failed" error.
Hence i believe you can also disable the spinner when switching from an invalid/poor signal channel to a working one.

VDR also uses libxine2, such problems never exists.
The thing is i want to use an android app called enigma signal meter by shax to align my antenna.
I can't wait for the spinner or e2pc to freeze for one minute because i'll be waiting on the roof tearing my hair out.  :o

If I move the motorized dish to search for a signal, then I don't have the problem you described.
1. Close e2pc, disconnect the cable from the dvb card, start e2pc again and make sure that when scrolling through the channels, e2pc does not hang.
2. Gently connect the grounds of the F-connectors to discharge static charge and insert the cable into the dvb card on any channel. The signal appears!

If make a hot disconnect of the antenna and then try to switch the channels, then YES, e2pc cannot turn on the channel.
If the dvb-card exist a green led "lock" (Skystar technisat usb2), then it does not light up on the known working channel.
If VDR handles with this situation (which I will check), then something really needs to be fixed. Of course, unless the dvb driver itself is to blame.
The spinner is just an indicator and can turns off in the menu. But there is pointless.
I want to fix all the flaws too. So far, that's all I can answer.

<- You don't need to install any apps on your smartphone for set up your dish. There is OpenWebInterface. It's enough to open a browser and enter the address, set port, login and password of the system. The penultimate menu item is called "Satellite Signal".

Of course, there must be a Wi-Fi signal of the home network at the place where the dish is installed.

I use a mobile app because it has a better interface/options than the OpenWebif Satfinder.
It's not possible to use Wifi to align my dish as my router signal can only be used indoors therefore i use mobile network after enabling port forwarding.

Anyway, i can assure you that something is wrong in newer e2pc builds, it crashes with the following errors so often.

[eDVBRecordFileThread] aio_suspend failed: Interrupted system call
[eFixedMessagePump] Got event but queue is empty

[eDVBRecordFileThread] aio_suspend failed: Interrupted system call
[eFixedMessagePump] read error No such file or directory

I downgraded to e2pc build 10 Jan 2021 which works fine.

Can you figure out what's wrong?

Under what circumstances does e2pc crash? What commit are you using?
Try to replace two files in the current version with filepush.cpp and filepush.h from version 2021.01.10.
e2pc doesn't crash for me in the current state. But I'm using Ubuntu >= 20.04. That is, "bionic" and higher. See the .travis.yml file.
In the old OpenPLi versions it says "trusty". It's difficult to provide dependencies for all versions of Ubuntu.

Afaik there is a bug in current normal OpenPLi code. On some boxes and in rare cases when recordings stop, e2 might hang. Maybe something similar here.

I have a dual-tuner dvb card, i'm getting random crashes when switching channels on 2 different satellites.
Do you have any dual tuner card in order to test that?
Does it related to the "Some reverse changes in filepush.cpp" commit?
I think if i used filepush.cpp, filepush.h from 10012021 those files will be overwritten from cache, i think i need to comment some line in build_openpliPC.sh .. right?

@betacentauri you ever heard about such issue when using a dual-tuner card?

I only know that the problem exists in some cases on stb’s. I don’t know anything about e2 version running on PC. This was only a short information. Maybe it helps.

My bad, i thought you use e2 on your pc as well.
By the way, as i mentioned e2pc crashes when switching between channels on two different satellites in my case as i use a dual tuner card.
There is another problem though, oscam is able to decrypt channels on adapter 0 only.
I fixed that issue be switching the coaxial cables once however the problem still exists.
I think it has nothing to do with oscam because i don't face that issue when using VDR.
It might be related to dvbsoftwareca.

I need a log file from the /tmp folder. Better yet would be to attach the core dump.
I will need a new dvb card soon. My dvb cards are very old. The card should always be able to show and count snr by 1%. It can also be a dual tuner card. What cards meet this requirement?

Good

But that has little to do with the topic.

The question of which card to choose depends on the choice of your receiver.
It is a question of the kernel to what extent the current cards can also be supported.

rantanplan, the question is pertinent, since I need to fix some errors in PC version.
You probably don't know about that some DVB cards (PCI or USB) don't always show SNR on all transponders (sometimes 0), or SNR are counted only by 5%, or they don't show SNR at all (always 0). This is very important, for example, for tuning a motorized dish. Of course, this is influenced by the driver or the circuit of the dvb frontend, but support in the kernel doesn't mean what all my requirements for measuring snr will be done.

You can use your old dvb card whether it's pci/pci-e along with your USB one for now.
Do you still have the old card or it was sold?

Yes, there is everything. Well, let's try. But no one answered about their new dvb card models and SNR.
