I just generated new po files, you can find them here http://openpli.git.s...15ba9d9;hb=HEAD

I enabled gettext fuzzy matching, which should hopefully save you guys a lot of time, especially for messages which have only small modifications (such as capital corrections)

@edcrane, I tried to merge the messages from your po file into the new de.po, so your work is not lost.

I worked with the translation file from edcrane, but since update from 16.11. it wont work anymore. did you change anything with the new image from yesterday?

There is a complete file with a german translation that you just need to copy to your box, I dont understand why you just dont add it to the image. please think about it, actual translation is terrible, the community helps and posts final solutions, but you dont care :(

@Tralien This was somehow "predicted", necessary and planned. I mean, @pieterg did a really great job yesterday and managed to improve the original (english) strings and menu items to be more accurate and better understandable. He tried to avoid that we have to re-do everything by adding the fuzzy option such that some old msgid match also if they do not match exactly (case-insensitive e.g.).
Maybe he didn't said it here very clearly in the last post but this WAS planned (see older post on this thread) and will improve all translation in the future (and the mechanism for po checks/submissions).
We just need to check the missing strings NOW in the e.g. de.po file (e.g. where we see a msgstr "", EMPTY) and ADD those that are missing.
BTW, I don't think that edcrane po will work better than the new translated de.po as of now, since the ORIGINAL strings did change also. BUT again this was clearly stated and necessary. Please just help us to get the new translations done! I am also working now on the de.po file... But maybe we two can get in contact because your German may be better.
Please don't blame @pieterg because he warned us and he did a very good job.
I know that you didn't want to offened him, but NOW we know what happened and the so-called "cosmetics update" was finally released and we can and should work together to improve the NEW translations (missing strings, because of refactoring of the old strings).

@pieterg Thx you, what I have seen (right now) you did a very good job to generate those new po files.

P.S. We need to get rid of the fuzzy items, but not all are very correct therefore only remove the # fuzzy comment if you are sure. And the same hold for other po files of course.
I'm sorry for the original translators but please don't blame @pieterg, ok?

Hi,
first of all thanks for all contributors and translators. Hope we could also contact and convince the other translators to help us to improve the new po files.
Thx again to @pieterg for committing our changes and finding again some typos himself etc (see recent commits).

I had some doubts while translating the msgids to german (beside the not so easy task to translate some technical msgid into my semi-mother tongue), I will just post them here as a block, hope @pieterg or others are able to understand them and help us to clear/improve this original strings:
- secundary -> secondary
- Display >16:9 content as (I'm not sure about that msgid, greater than 16:9?)
- Download .NFI-Files for USB-flasher (several variants of this msgid,case-insensitive (>=3) in po file)
- "Do you want to Restart the GUI now?" -> restart
- configuartion... Configuration
- Weigthed -> Weighted
- Seperate -> Separate
- occured -> occurred
(- pptions -> options : already FIXED)

Most of them are typos in the sources (i.e. msgids), maybe NOT all of them are real problems and need to be fixed (I'm also no english language expert as you may already know).

And here (attached) is my translated file for the german openpli users. It may be far from perfect since there was a lot to translate from scratch, to remove, to adjust. You are all invited to improve it and check if my translations are appropriate (e.g. by checking the commitdiff, when it is available).

Best

Slovenian is work in progress too. Many changes needed!

Why is in main menu used this string Standby / restart? Power management is better choice in my opinion!

I don't fully agree, power management is where you configure power profiles etc, not where you restart or shutdown your stb.

Friends, why to select the Brazilian translation, continues driving the translation of Portugal?

After, the translation is not Brazilian, as shown in the image is "Português do Brasil"

Besides the above mentioned error!

The language of Brazil is not activating correctly, many sentences are still in Portuguese of Portugal and english!

Indeed, it means larger (or wider) than 16:9. Like for instance 2.35:1 or 1.85:1
I'll keep this message as it is for now, as I don't know a nice (and short) alternative way to describe it.

I fixed the remaining typo's and case errors, thanks for reporting them.

OK, fixed that

Possibly because nobody made the translations yet?
(I believe I just made a copy from the portuguese translation file, when I introduced Brazillian portuguese as an option)

Yep, but recent update modified or added alot of strings, so this translation is already obsolete. Not completely but in reality many things will be in english now.

I believe that "download" and "remove" is enough.

It might not be clear to users that the 'remove' button will open a new screen, they might think that instead the currently selected plugin (in the same screen) will be removed if they press that button.
So I'm not sure which is better, so I'd rather leave it as it is for now.

Interesting that list would be put to work, despite being obsolete, while we produce a new updated list, because so far we are using the language of Portugal Portuguese!

Leveraging where I think to download the new list with the new strings?

I checked the git history, and it turns out I used an empty file for BR_pt.po
I'll use the one you mention here, and merge in the new messages.
Note: you'll have to fix up to 50% of the translations, after the merge.
