No, a motor object is something you mentioned before and could perhaps be used in situations where dish arc is not perfect and requires adjustments for some satellites, particularly those most to the east and to the west.

As regards motorised dishes with more than one LNB, are you talking about one dish using a motor and several LNB's on the same dish? Because this is what I'm talking about. My question is not about combining several dishes of which one is motorized.

The point of a motor object isn't to correct poorly set up hardware. If for some reason you are having trouble nailing satellites at the end of the arc but ones in the middle work fine you have the dish elevation/declination set wrong. No amount of fudging settings is going to cure that. All fudging can do is move the dish east/west, not north south.

Yes, I'm talking about multiple LNBs on the same dish.

Yes, I'm talking about multiple LNBs on the same dish.

Can you explain how your setup is then (in reality and in E2)?

OK, can you please shed some light on how you set it up?

Is it based on the PDF file Jan Gruuthuse's was referring to?

Normally that document is for fixed dish and multiple lnb and one motorized dish with one lnb.

The principle is very simple: a switch can connect several LNB’s to one coax: one of the LNB’s is the motorised one.

Nope, as stated above my document is only for combining fixed and motorised LNB's, not for multiple LNB's on one motor.

Thanks.

So Huevos must be using some other patented solution. ;)

Probably not.

But it is confusing and not always working as expected. If you're a zapper, you're better of having several dish's with fixed lnb's. I have 2 fixed dish (7 lnb) and one rotor mounted (1 lnb). The extra weight could be additional problem for wear and tear of the rotor gears.

Robinson, there are 2 reasons for putting multi-LNB on one motorised dish.

1, So the dish can be shared between C-band and Ku.

2. So the dish remains stationary when zapping between major positions.

Which are you trying to do?

So what are the major positions you want to set up? And how big is dish?

My dish is 120cm and the 2 major positions I would like to receive is 13E and 19E (possibly 28E too with a maximum of 3 LNB's).

Now, how do you make it work?

Triple LNB bracket (preferably from your dish manufacturer). Like for Triax TD dish with a TD - 3°-20° FlexiBlock - 3xLNB with center with center LNB on 19.2°E.

Then somehow when choosing either of these 3 positions:

- instruct motor to go to 19.2°E, then handle as it would be a fixed dish

- switch/select appropriate LNB for 13°E, 19.2°E or 28.2°E.

Well if doing 19E and 13E, always use Eutelsat as the focal LNB because Astra satellites are not skewed parallel with the arc.

Line up the dish as a normal motorised install. Once the dish is set up and tracking the arc properly send it to 13E. Add the second LNB and adjust that LNB so it is receiving 19E. Add DiSEqC switch. Connect port A to focal LNB. Port B to 19E.

E2 tuner setup:

LNB 1. DiSEqC 1.2. Port A. USALS. Your real co-ordinates. Use this LNB for all satellites apart from 19E.

LNB 2. DiSEqC 1.2. Port B. USALS. Your 6.2º east of your real co-ordinates. This LNB is for 19.2E

Very interesting, I must admit.

What if it was 28.2E - 19.2E - 13E? Then it is 19.2E that should be the focal point, right?

Please note all the 3 LNB's would be twin LNB's. And my box has 2 tuners.

How would this be set up, please?

There is no way to have 2 boxes linked to one dish and have proper control. Neither is there any way to have 2 tuners connected to one motorised dish and have proper control.

13E, 19E, 28E. Same as before. But if 19E is the focal LNB make sure it is skewed for the arc, not for Astra. Astra satellites are skewed "wrong".

I would like to ask you guys for a step-by-step in order to achieve the following:

- offset all my WEST satellites (0-30W) by 3-4 steps to the east,

- offset some of my EAST satellites (60-86E) by 3-4 steps to the west,

Can somebody guide me through the process?

Thank you.

Your motor is knackered. It has free play.

Here is how to do it.

Tuner Advanced.

Set up 2 LNBs. (LNB1, LNB2).

Set all your west satellites use LNB1.

Adjust the longitude of LNB1 until all your west satellites work.

Set all your east satellites to use LNB2.

Adjust the longitude of LNB2 until all your east satellites work.

You get the general idea. Add more LNBs into the equation as needed.

Or...

Keep your current setup, with 1 LNB configured with USALS and move your latitude further north.

Wow! That was a clever idea. 4 degrees to the north and I'm fine.

Thanks!
