Hello,

I also had problems with HDMI-CEC and my Panasonic TV. Whenever I turned on my STB the Panasonic came up too, but didn't switch to the correct HDMI input. I tried the hotel mode and alsmost every hint I found.

BUt now I have found a solution:

I changed the original HdmiCec.py in line 32 from

for i in (10, 50, 100, 150, 250):

to

to for i in (10, 50, 100, 150, 250,4000):

and set the plugin setting to 4000.

Now it seems, that the Panasonic has enough time to start up and to receive the "switch" signal afterwards. I even tried lower values but 3500ms weren't enough.

This is most probably not the smartes solution as now all CEC instructions are delayed.

But now I can turn on/off the TV with the STB remote.

Maybe someone who knows how to code phyton could extend the plugin to use the long delay only for switching to HDMI input.

Because now, it even takes 4 seconds to turn off the TV after the STB went to Standby and also turning On is delayed...

Greets

Vogi

I have a Samsung TV -> hdmi1 -> Samsung receiver -> hdmi 2 -> VUultimo fixed adr 1.2.0.0.

Start TV and Receiver and forward volume to receiver is OK.

This have been running great for months.

I believe with last driver problem with "lost connection with anynet+ device" message on TV after every start occur. The message disappears after a while but very annoying.

Well, if i haven't needed anynet i would not have this issue at all, right?

It's very practical to only use one remote to power on everything and change receiver volume with STB remote.

Request to any developer: is it possible to change eHdmiCEC debug so to/from is included an change to xx:xx:xx format so it's easy to copy/paste to cec-o-matic site?e

Thanks, also on my Panasonic TV i got it working with a delay of 4 seconds between each signal. Hope there would be a solution, because i'm coming from Merlin 3 Image on Dreambox and also there it was working perfekt.

hi,

is it possible to remap remote buttons?

i have a samsung tv and the anynet cec service does not forward the volume buttons over hdmi cec.

so i can't handle decoder volume using tv remote.

can i remap volumeup and down using different buttons on the remote, red and green for example?

i have a samsung tv and the anynet cec service does not forward the volume buttons over hdmi cec.

My UE55D700 samsung TV do forward volume here, but i prefer the other way around and forward from STB to TV. Anyway booth directions work ok here.

Can't check now, but if my memory serves me then i think you need to enable some setting in TV to be able to forward volume from TV.

Hello,

openmips hdmi cec (at least turning the tv on/off via receiver) works on my Gigablue Quad HD in connection with Samsung TVs.

I'd like to be able to turn on and off the tv via a button (or two buttons) on the gigablue remote control. The reason: I'd like to listen to radio without having to turn on the tv or using a second remote.

Help appreciated!

Hi,

Gigablue is not officially supported by Openpli, you should ask this on your image provider.

Thanks for the hint. You are probably right regarding the way I asked my question.

Actually the first question that arises for me is how to use the hdmi test plugin via a console (e. g. via telnet) and at least that question ist about the hdmi test plugin and neither about openpli/openmips or something vendor specific. Even if Gigablue/openmips doesn't allow to reprogram a button on the remote it should be easy to send hdmi cec commands via e.g. an android smarthpone widget.

Might it be possible to send commands to the following device path? /dev/hdmi_cec

If so, if someone gave me an example of how such a command would look like it would be great.

Hello,

I would like to ask your support in solving HDMI-CEC interworking issue with OpenPLI4 and a Sony W829 series TV.

What is working

- TV goes to standby when STB goes to standby
- TV switches on when STB is switched on

- TV volume can be controlled by STB remote.

What is NOT working
- TV switches to last input when STB is switched on and not to STB input

- Bravia Sync does not discover the connected STB

- STB neither goes standby nor switches on when TV is switched off/on

- Nothing can be controlled on the STB by using the TV remote.

The STB shows 2.0.0.0 address on HDMI1 input.

Could you please give me a hint how to solve or debug this problem? I would like to control the STB via the TV remote only.
