There have been more reports about the need to completely de-install the HDMI-CEC plugin to stop it from receiving commands from the telly and sending commands to the box. Simply disabling the plugin doesn't seem to stop it completely from working.

And as VU uses a completely different IR-language from all other devices, interference with any RC is very unlikely (contrary to the Xtrends, who use a sub-language which results in much interference with many devices).

tomorrow you can try it. It should be solved.

Well, I can't as I never had this issue.

But good to hear it has been fixed in the root cause.

I tried todays build and cdc messages is blocked successfully.

But reportPhysicalAddress is still being sent at enigma start so TV still tries to activate menu. It's actually worse this way because one could think TV remote is broken.

of course you don't see any messages in debug as they are blocked with your patch.

If you read what i'm writing stb still send message to TV and then TV thinks it can communicate with stb = plugin is not disabled = menu button om tv-remote does nothing att all because it tries to open menu on stb and not tv menu.

Your TV - if detect in HDMI message with "report physical address" only, then redirect RC (or some button) to STB ?

Unbelievable... mark ?

There is problem, that "report physical address" is sending early on loading enigme, when is not loaded settings => cannot be used config in this time, cannot disable it..

TV is a new Sony. And it's quite logical that a TV automatically tries to connect with HDMI-CEC when stb talks HDMI-CEC compatible messages?

eHdmiCEC: send message 84 20 00 03

If i read this right actually message is 0F:84:20:00:03 and it translates to -> Broadcast from TV to everyone that there is a tuner on HDMI input 2.

So of curse TV should try to command stb with TV-remote when HDMI input 2 is selected.

Then the setting "disable HDMI-CEC" is not really true the way it is designed now, then remove the setting option as it's not works correctly. And re add it later when a fix has been found?

0xf (broadcast): 84 20 00 03 inform all devices connected to HDMI, that on address 2.0.0.0 is receiver. That is all.  When I do not accept control from TV (in CEC settings), then receiver does not accept any code from TV.

It is not command for set TV to controll this device.

If your TV wants controll your STB, then disable it on TV. On my Philips it is "Easy link -> Remote controller Easy link -> Disable/Enable

Not when HDM_control of the TV has been set to off.

Sony: Home --> Settings --> HDMI-settings --> HDMI-control --> Off

Others as me probably have other connected devices (arc to amp, dvd etc...) so this is not an option. I'm surprised this is even suggested.

Perhaps a other solution if plugin can't be disabled as stated is to "future abort" requests instead of ignore messages. Theoretical this should work but i haven't read the protocol in ages so can't remember now if this approach is doable. ims you seem quite up to date with the cec protocol, what do you think of this?

I also have a number of devices connected, but I wouldn't ever use HDMI-control.

And since you have issues with it, the suggestion seemed logic.

Yes it's cec command that's is sent. Not really a big issue normaly but now i have a new TV and a lot of tweaking in TV menus for best picture settings.

But if plugin have a disable setting then it should be disabled both ways.

Actually i'm back to normal mode now, so this don't bother me anymore.

But you reported this so there is obviously a problem for other users, thats why i'm still here nagging about this to try to help out.

Hi,

Would be nice if OpenPLi can include HDMItest into its feed:

http://forums.openpl...ndpost&p=317883

I just test it on latest OpenPLi on my Xtrend ET-9000 and it is still working.

try install hdmi test plugin and use 0x36, what happens. Try send it to TV (0x00) and then to Broadcast (0x0f).

Is this something you made?

No I use google and find the name, so I search in the feed and didn't find it. But I saw that it was already on the forum.

So i was thinking that may be it was no longer working, so I install it "manually" and test it and saw that it was still working.

I was just wondering why it was not in the feed.

Can be useful for people willing to troubleshoot HDMI-CEC problems, but I have no idea who is behind this plugin, perhaps IMS knows since he was the poster of it on the forum.
