Just want to report that HDMI CEC support works flawless on my Sony tv (Bravia).

STB and TV full functions controlled by only the TV remote control.

TV  is master and STB behaves as a slave.

TV on STB follows on.

TV off STB follows off

Correct input switching to DVD and vice versa to correct input.

Full functions STB controlled by TV remote. ( some missing functions added with hotkey)

Part of setting:

Minimum send interval is disabled.

Activate tv signal set to OSD name request.

In my case this does the main job.

Thanks a lot for everyone involved for this to function in Openpli!

I even notice that zaptime between channels is a bit faster this way somehow via HDMI control.

Hi,

Can you please share your settings on both sides, TV and openpli.
I have a Sony bravia too and works fine. But I am experiencing random cases where box and TV go on standby.
I think is a problem with HDMI-cec

Thanks

F*k the HDMI-CEC usage :-).

I need help to shut down / power on with my LG-TV, but stupid Simplink-CEC has problems with standard of HDMI-CEC which is used on all other devices.

OpenPLi-4 is making use of Stanby.py (.pyo) python script with user bash-script support.

Inside of the Standby.py script is the call of script by leaving and entering stand-by mode.

So, I can interconnect LG-TV with my satellite box (Formuler F3) with using of the RS232C interface.

Connected by the simple serial cable type - "null modem without handshaking".

/usr/script/standby_enter.sh

(if the folder and file does not exist, make it then and set the file rights/attributes to 0755)

#!/bin/sh
echo "ka 01 00" > /dev/ttyS0        # power down LG-TV over RS232 interface

/usr/script/standby_leave.sh

(if the folder and file does not exist, make it then and set the file rights/attributes to 0755)

#!/bin/sh

echo "ka 01 01" > /dev/ttyS0        # power on LG-TV over RS232 interface

Maybe this helps someone.

No solution without using of RS232 cable?

My LG TV is waking up from standby, but does not go into standby via HDMI CEC.

Maybe you have tried this already for LG TV?

  1. Hold down the Settings button on your remote for 5 seconds.
  2. Select General and then SIMPLELINK.
  3. Set the below settings to OFF.
  4. Set Auto Power Sync to Off.

I have an older Panasonic LCD-TV. The TV does not turn on via HDMI-CEC when using an ET9000. With an ET7000 it's perfectly fine, when I switch on the box, the TV goes on too. What could be the problem with the ET9000?

It may be a matter of timing.

my VU+ Zero, XP1000 and ET10000 work fine with my Panasonic, my HD2400 not at all. The same Zero doesn't work well with a Philips if the timing is set to less than 100ms.

So perhaps experiment a little, I've already seen people using quite a large value to make it work.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

HDMI-CEC interoperability is just a joke. It's the fault of the manufacturers, not of PLi.

It is funny, that the PC monitors producers managed it well and TV producers have still problems ... (turning off if is not signal, toggle inputs etc ...)

You're not confusing DDC and CEC? AFAIK there is no single TV or monitor that can talk to any just CEC device. None of my monitors do anything with CEC anyway. Shutting off the monitor is done with DPMS, a fancy name for turning of vsync, hsync or both.

I thought turning on/off or toggle to active inputs ... regardless of the technology.  It Is shame, if some modern TVs are not able turn on/off via CEC or TV not knows toggle to last active input itself ...

Btw - about problems with CEC ... try timing and check, if you have not pluged some device "corrupting" cec wire.

I had one Cube linux device - it grounded CEC wire, imho.

Some boxes in deep standby (in this time all mut@nts ) partialy corrupting CEC work too ...

Thank you for that.

I don't think it's a matter of timing. I tried all from Min to Max.

And I would not blame it on the TV in this case - why does the ET7000 manage to turn it on, but the ET9000 doesn't? Is HDMI-CEC controlled by the drivers?

my ET9x00 turns on the Sharp TV just fine.

What CEC needs is a huge database that allows us to check which combinations of devices are known to work, anything else is pure guess-work

No, that doesn't help either.

As for Sony, CEC works well, no problem at all.

I have noticed in the HDMI-CEC settings a new option "Degug to file".

How can I change the path for the logfile? It is set to /hdd/, but I don't have a harddisk...
