What does evtest do? I can't find it in the feed

 

It is a commandline tool:

opkg install evtest

and it shows you the events the drivers generate when you press a button (and how you press it).

 

If evtest doesn't show anything when you press a button, that button is not supported in the drivers, so Enigma will never see it (or be able to act upon it).

You can't. If you want to make changes, you need to install the source. Every package has a source package in the feed, with a "-src" prefix. They are not installed by default as virtually nobody needs them, so doing so is a waste of space.

 

So you need to find which package contains the file you want to edit, and then use "opkg install" to install the source package.

 

Note that the packages are under package management, so if you update the box from the menu, your changes will be overwritten. There are ways to block that, but that means the package will never receive updates anymore.

Yeah I guess the workaround I did is probably safest option
Maybe Mrvica will update the plugin with these changes in the future, every Zgemma device should benefit from them

Behavior of keys for use ( only TEXT/ HELP )  .... every time you want to use the help button, you must disable the plugin

It is better to have these options separate like this :

 the text button no one uses it now, but the help button is still used by many
