BTW, what is the script method?

You can find all the story at the beginning of this very thread. It was a genius work and made it possible, little time after the move to the new Astra 28E satellites of BBC channels, to watch them again from 27W. Then, in some ways this function has been implemented in the OpenPLI distribution and everything works off the shelf provided you have the key. Streaming and recording works without transcoding. Only, as I said, it happens to me that on some PCs I have difficulties in watching streamed BBC channels. But I think it is a problem of available Codecs on that very PC (and that I can solve with MPV, which works as a charm).

Oh, do you mean the python script that tries to decrypt the PMT?

I though that, to this day, you still have to manually put the PIDs in lamedb, are you saying that it's not necessary anymore and openpli can decrypt the PMT?

If so, could somebody tell me the commit (or commits) that did it?

Found it! I was using the lamedb entries indicated by this post, thinking that it was up to date (the message is from this year) but it's not

The correct lamedb entries are here, with the c:16xxxx fields and the f:400 flags. Now vlc, mplayer and the enigma2 plugin for kodi are happy :D

I'm wondering why the dvb namespace for this transponder in my lamedb is 0cfd0000 instead of 0cfdace7.

I didn't mind until I found that epgimport didn't work because rytec.channels.xml uses 0cfdace7 for the mapping.

For the time being I created a custom.channels.xml with 0cfd0000 but I'd like to know why I had this discrepancy and I can simply replace every occurrence of 0cfd0000 in lamedb.

The first 4 positions of the namespace is the orbital, the second 4 positions is the frequency. Enigma doesn't use that, so in most cases it is just set to 0000, but it depends on how and what is scanned.

Thank you, so, since every lamedb I find on the net has 0cfdace7 must have been a fault while scanning then, no?

Well. it is not a fault, if it is how it is broadcasted by the provider. So it suggests your lamedb isn't correct for some reason.

if use this option on YES - namespace use only 4 digits /xyzw0000/

if use this option on NO - namespace use 8 digits /xyzwABCD/

The default is NO, and until recently, this NO was hardcoded.

And it is "no" for good reason, otherwise you end up with duplicate copies of the same services, e.g. satellites.xml lists a transponder at 10818V and network lists it as 10817V. End up with duplicates of everything on that multiplex.

Only time it is ever needed is in the rare case that an orbital position has transponders with the same onid and tsid on different frequencies.

Am I reading it wrong or the default is true?

(I have no "config.usage.subnetwork" entry in my /etc/enigma2/settings).

Thank you!
I missed the fact that BBC Three was going on air again!

I wish they would have added BBC Four HD to the feed though (instead or also, whichever they wish, if anyone is listening  ;)  )!

Until now BBC Four HD was just a placeholder (no real signal), as far as I know.

Does anybody have a bang up-to-date list of which Satback channels are actually working and the corresponding lamedb entries, please?

Thanks.
