Following patch supports both zapmode and zapping_mode. I think the patch does not degrade enigma2 code quality.

I agree that it would be best for VU+ to use same variable name, but if the patch does not hurt the overall code quality, it doesn't do any harm, it just helps people that use OpenPLI. Do as you please.

It indeed does not make enigma 2 less stable.... But it is still a not required patch if vu makes the naming as it should be.... So use the plugin from vu or bother vu so theyy adopt their drivers...

To better explain the issue, this happens if you scan Hotbird with NIT (Network Scan) enabled. Channels that should be at 11823H are saved as being in 12207H.

Hey guys,

I have some questions and recommendations for the developers.

Questions:
1) How can I install "Transcoding" addon for Solo2, I could not find it anywhere?
2) How can I make a full backup of OpenPLi 3.0 for Solo2 so that I can create a zip file to boot it with Meoboot?

Recommendations:
OPEN Pli is a really stable image but for a last generation device like Solo2, 40-45 mb image is not good enough because it does not include necessary addons and functionality for Solo2. I would appreciate those developments can be done ASAP to maximize Open PLi comfort for Solo2.

Regards

What do you call "necessary"?

And we do not support multiboot environments. Most of them are designed for Dreambox OE, which is not compatible with our OE environment.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Thank you for prompt reply.

Necessary means, i.e. transcoding is a must to have for an image if it's spesific for Vu+ Solo2. And Solo2 backup (not nfi) stlye, etc... There are many opportunities I believe can be developed If somebody focus.

Hello, thank you for thip. May I ask which format does BackupSuite 12.0 use for Solo2, nfi? I am using Solo 2 and how can I create a table backup of my own image with actual settings and restore if any problem occurs?

transcoding is perhaps a must have for you but not for everyone. OpenPLi delivers a fine and clean image and everybody can install what he/she likes. Especially for boxes with limited flash it is the only way to deal with.

When transcoding is installed per default the next user comes and asks what is transcoding? I do not need it. Can you remove it?

ciao

Vu is building on their own fork of enigma2... so when they develop something there is a risk they make something that is not PLi compatible....

No, no NFI format, just the same format which is used to flash your image. A backup is just an EXACT copy of your image with all settings, plugins, timers etc. When you restore, read flash, your backup, you get exactly the the situation of the moment when you made the backup.

You are maybe right but Transcoding is a tool for only Solo2, so If a user downloads Open PLi image for Solo2 from this site, I think you can not judge thim since he expects to see transcoding addon in that image, right? Because that person cannot ask that "what is transcoding" question If he owns a Solo2 :)

You mean, transcoding addon is risky for Open PLi?

Thank you, so I will be able to take that backup and keep in in my PC so that I can return it by flashing through USB installation on my Solo 2 as I do for other images, right? Or I need to have Open PLi image installed on my flash to restore?

You can flash it regardless which image you are using at that moment, so you can make a sidestep and safely return to your openpli image

Here is a fix for RC numeric keys with the best regards to OpenPli team.

  /* check whether the input device has KEY_A, in which case we assume it is a keyboard */
  return hasCap(keyCaps, KEY_A);
}

Hi,

is there any way for me, to fix this "manually" in the image (the missing feature in the letter keys disturbs me very much ...)? If so, where can I find the file where I need to insert the change?

Thank`s a lot.

Regards

As we go for the structural way VU HAS TO FIX THIS IN THEIR DRIVERS...

So they should solve this...
return hasCap(keyCaps, KEY_A);

A remote has no KEY_A button...

this is also no solution. The Solo2 supports the Ultimo RC and this has a keyboard.

well, as the rc and the keyboard have different functionality, you would present them as different devices of course
