Hi Milo,

that sounds like a good and simple proposal!

Is it enough just plug in the keyboard in, for example, Front-USB? Or other settings/activations are still necessary?

Regards

If you're running OpenPLi, just plug it in anywhere (front USB is indeed the easiest spot) and start typing. You can even plug it in when it's already waiting for your input. No configuration, reboot, or whatever is needed.

Just try!

Hi dear Open PLi-Team,

I have seen, that there are released some new drivers from VU+ for the Solo2.

Eliminate these new drivers possibly some of the existing problems respectively fix some bugs so far?

The hope dies at last ...  ;)

When can we expect 3.3.8 kernel+drivers for solo2? Is this delay another issue of who provides the recipe files?

We're not a commercial company, so we NEVER give out any release dates.

The delay is caused by VU+ not bothering to send a decent patch. Thus, the change must be done and tested manually which takes a few hours. And someone has to get the solo2 from the attic to test it on. And feel like spending time on it.

@MiLo: Is it OK if I test and provide the needed patches? Or they have to come from VU+ to get accepted?

@hemertje: It does have a needed fix for people using the transcoding feature. Not critical, but definitely needed.

Hi malakudi,

this is really a great idea!!!

Please Open PLi Team agree to this offer - because I am still fear, that from VU+ will come nothing ...

That would be a real shame, because for me personally open pli is simply the best and most stable image.

Sure, creating a git patch or whatever (and testing it first - something that the VU+ techs usually skip) would really help speed up things.

I've been renovating my home, which is slowly nearing completion. I'm slowly picking up the OpenPLi again, now that I'm allowed to enter my own home again :)

Hello,

since no inputs of letters on the remote control are possible in the VU Solo2, Milo had recommended me to connect a USB keyboard to the front USB port and to make entries with the keyboard. That went well without problems. Now with the new kernel, the USB keyboard doesn`t work anymore.

The example relates entries of IP's, names, passwords or times for example in "network configuration" (when assigning a fixed IP address) or in the Plugin "Partnerbox" or "EPG Refresh" ...

By the way:

Formally works at least the numeric entries by RC. Now go neither numbers nor letters ...  The only way for me was make the entry on the WebIF (but for letters this does not work properly).

Regards
