Yes, only a couple of millimeters is sticking out.
All I have is no or unknown card inserted for both slots.
I just started from scratch, going back to factory settings, made no difference.
Could it really be an old card ?
Even though it worked before image and CCcam update.
Maybe I should order a new one.

I am beginning to wonder, if I should re-flash with an older image.
I have a clean installation, and I have tried now CCcam 2.0.9, 2.1.4, 2.2.1 and 2.3.0
All are running, if I look at IP:16001 and entitlements all show
card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted
card reader /dev/sci1
no or unknown card inserted
I am using internal reader, and I have tried both readers. Card work in original box.
The only thing, that I have not tried is a new card, since this is from 2011. I have ordered a new card.

There is absolutely nothing in the image that has any relation with whether or not a softcam can access a smartcard. So it's pointless flashing another image.
If you telnet into the box, and do
killall CCcam /usr/bin/CCcam -d
you can see the cccam debug log. Perhaps there's an error message that can help us further...
(you can use ctrl-C to kill CCcam logging, after which you can start it again normally with the remote from the menu)
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

OK, I'm back on todays image, and a totally clean install, with only the default CCcam. Not changed a single ting.

With no card inserted, I do not get the card init fail.
But I get the card init fail, with the card inserted - also if I insert it upside down. So there must be a simple switch, that detects the card, it seems like there is no communication with the card at all.
My config is empty - untouched from the install.
I am getting a little fustrated, no TV for a week now..... What to try next ?

Any help would be apreciated.
WanWizard, does the log tell you something ??
No, I had that once with an NDS card that was fried by Oscam, but I managed to revive that in the original box.
Since you say the card works fine in another box, we can assume there's nothing wrong with the card.

It was a long time ago, when they were experimenting with running the cards on higher clocks, in an attempt to speed it up. Which the NDS card didn't like one single bit.
A lot of people use Oscam, so I don't think this is the case anymore.

Can you see anything from my oscam log ??
Only thing changed, is oscam.server, adding boxkey (stdid to hex).
