Hi,

Yes the CI slot on tbs card.

TBS5980 cannot handle APSK,ACM,VCM and TBS5925 can.

TBS5925 on SatDreamGr image and OSmini receiver!

All work fine with the TBS5925 !

Hi,

Dreambox has (old) kernel 3.2 so it requires several backports (at least FE_CAN_MULTISTREAM).

For machines with kernel >= 3.8 was much easier!

Anyway no plan for Dreambox ATM, of course if they switch to newer kernel (>=3.8) I will create the patch ASAP

I Does this mean that the TBS 5925 will be supported from the openpli nightly builds ?

Hi,

 

 

Yes TBS5925 supported now for all VU+ models.

 

But:

 

1. You will have to put firmware manually in /lib/firmware

2. You will not have support for MIS/PLS since enigma2 patches are not merged yet

 

If you need full support with 1 & 2 points above, you should use experimental SatDreamGr at the moment.

 

For point 1 we need confirmation from TBS that we can include firmware in OpenPLi-OE.

 

(I have opened an account to TBS forum but they didn't accept me yet in order to ask them.)

Hi All,

 

I'm experimenting with my ET-9200 and Openli 4 image (kernel 3.8.7) but I'm failing to pass the 1st phase... I can't see the TBS5925 on the tuner list.

What I did:

 

1. Placed the file "dvb-usb-tbsqbox-id5925.fw" from TBS site in /lib/firmware and gave permissions 755

 

2. 

opkg update 

opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-tbs

reboot

 

but no tuner on list... what am I doing wrong?

I am more into the RF part of the hobby than into Linux, although I like both...

 

What would be your suggestion:

 

a ) just wait, kernel 3.8.7 will be patched soon

b ) Upgrade now to a new image, 3.8.7 is outdated anyway

b ) Is not an option. Drivers for the box need 3.8.7. You cannot change that because drivers are closed source.

Blindscan support for STV090x devices is also possible... An extra patch posted on patchwork.linuxtv enables the blindscan with proper data.
