Excuse my ignorance but what would need to happen to be able to use this tuner on my Solo 4k including MIS/PLS with ViX image ?

My suggestion would be 'visit the VIX board and pose your question overthere'. It seems the most logical step to take. ;)

Why when mentioning a different image does there always have to be a sarcastic answer ?

My question was simple !

What would need to happen, right!

Instead of a sarcastic answer you could of said - Well ViX would have to do this, that and the other

I guess such are the egos here that would be too difficult.

I tried to be of assistance earlier in this thread and all I want is a helpful answer but oh no that'd too easy !

There is nothing sarcastic about it. Your question is like asking Toyota on how a specific engine feature has to be implemented in your Ford...

Nobody here can comment on what ViX has to do to make this work. ViX is a derivative from the VU+ image, which is a different source base compared to an OpenPLi image. ViX also hasn't published it's source, so nobody here knows what it looks like and how much it differs. So the answer was correct.

ViX developers are they only people that can answer your question, and you don't find them here.

Actually this thread has all the information with links to patches required.

You need the foolowing patches.

1. https://github.com/v...-vuplus/pull/12
2. https://github.com/v...-vuplus/pull/13

Additionally you need the TBS firmware placed in /lib/firmware.

If you also plan to use TBS for MIS/PLs you need Enigma2 changes from my multistream branch

3. https://github.com/a...ree/multistream

Finally if you need Blindscan support you need additionally the following

4. https://patchwork.li...rg/patch/19387/
5. https://bitbucket.or...om/blindscan-s2

Thats all, more or less...
Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1
Unamed: 13E Quattro - 9E Quattro on IKUSI MS-0916

Since ViX is a VU+ copy, is is likely that 1 and 2 are already present in their codebase.

I wasn't aware of the fact that he also created patches for the vu-plus codebase.

I've just tried the latest experimental SDG image for the VU+ Duo2 (dated 29th).

I also installed the blindscan plugin from the SDG feed.

However, the 5925 will not blindscan any sat. When I press "green" to scan, the spinner runs for a few seconds and then nothing, no scanning.

Is this because VU+ are shit or have I missed something? :)

@WanWizard: What you are referring to is VTi. ViX is part of OE-Alliance and it is open source.

I have added my TBS5925 to my Xtrend ET10000 (OpenPLi 2016-3-31), so far it does the same as the plugin (AVL6211) tuners.
Response is a lot slower and signal-level is mostly the same and no signal on Multistream transponders.

I noticed when installing the driver via the menu this does not add the TBS firmware in /lib/firmware.
Also I read here that I have to change permissions to 755, but it worked okay without changing permissions.
Can you confirm that you don't need to change permissions?

Now the driver is installed from the feed, do I still need this patch? (Or more patches?)

I understand to add MIS/PLS and blindscan support I still have apply some patches (or install the SatdreamGR image).

Is there a way to apply the patches on a working system? How?
Or do I need to compile a complete image from scratch?

Dreambox DM920:2x Triple tuner (2x DVB-S2X MIS and DVB-C/T2) Xtrend ET10000: 2x DVB-S2, 2x DVB-C, IPTV Xtrend ET9500 (defect)
Channel Master 120cm offset + Black Ultra LNB (Ku-band): 42°E-37,5°W - 100cm SAB draaibaar: 45.1°E-60°E - 80cm vast: 28.2°E/23.5°E/19.2°E/13°E
DVB-T2 en DAB via een combi VHF/UHF-antenne op zolder gericht op Schoten.

Hi @Alex_NL

If you are making use of OpenPLi (since yesterday) when you are installing TBS driver firmware also will be installed automatically.

So with latest OpenPLi you will get TBS driver and firmware on most VU+ and Xtrend machines.

Firmware should not be executable, read access required.

For MIS/PLS you need extra patches into Enigma2 from my multistream branch, hopefully those patches will be included at some point in experimental OpenPLi.

For Blindscan you need extra patches into kernel, modified blindscan plugin and modified blindscan-s2.

So in short if you are using OpenPLi, you will get TBS card working with Enigma2.

If you are using experimental SDG, you will get also blindscan-s2, modified blindscan plugin and kernel patched for blindscan for osmini and vu+. The Xtrend will be patched soon, when time permits.

All the information required are on this thread, links and patches (eg #126).
Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1

So, I was one day too early. The file 'dvb-usb-tbsqbox-id5925.fw' was not present in /lib/firmware after installing dvb-usb-tbs (1.0-r0.0).

Firmware should not be executable, read access required.

I allready thought so, just needed confirmation.

I'd better use the SatDreamGR image for now I guess...

You need to need to compile the image from sources and apply the missing patches.
