kernel is crashing..

Most probably paches from upstream required to make it work.

I am sorry but stick is not usable without extra patches.

Many thanks for Your time

Came across this post, the user was able to get the dvb-c part working. But not sure how much it applies to enigma2.

The osmini and the osminiplus has the latest kernel 4.6 where almost complete support included without extra patches!

Still one driver related with Astrometa (MN88472) is in staging, but in kernel 4.7 will be included as well.

So on the newer kernel 4.7 there will be 100% support of Astrometa devices.

PS. Renaming the frontend1 to frontend0 works, although better to patch Enigma2 to scan for other usb frontends.

That looks very promising.! B)

I'm sure there is a lot of interest to get those working now. Especially with the recent role-out of dvbt2 in Germany.

As they only cost about $16, its a cheap alternative for an additional Dvb-T2/dvb-C tuner.

Also that RTL2832 chipset allows you to use it as a Software Defined Radio. (listen to police/aircraft radio)

Been playing around with that on a Windows machine, and thats pretty cool. :D  https://github.com/cjcliffe/CubicSDR.

Hello guys!

I see that you made quite a progress with this stick. But is it really working as DVB-C tuner under openPLI and how to get it working?

While having a test with OpenATV6.0 (et8000) in noticed this:

Do you think its still worth persuing DVB-T2 QAM256 for UK tv  or as cheap Cable tuner ?

Unfortunately I don't have my Astrometa USB to try out at the moment.

Cheers Colin

@athoik Update.

I can confirm that DVB-T2 & DVB-C  works good in the UK.on my et8000, with the frontend swap trick.with newer kernels (4.10.6) Open ATV6.0/6.1

Also I have found that after frontend swap via PC-Telnet, that just copy ( i use "Deambox Edit" plugin) /dev/dvb/adaptor1 to a local folder.

Full reboot returns adapters to normal, ie software update or pligin install.

So from remote (No PC needed) send/ftp modified /dev/dvb/adaptor1

Restrat E2

Tara Frontends swapped.

Save the following script as /usr/bin/enigma2_pre_start.sh and make executable.

#!/bin/sh

# check if adapter already renamed and exit

[ -c /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend9 ] && exit 0

# do the rename

mv /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0 /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend9
mv /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0

exit 0
It will automate this for you.

Hi, I have the Astrometa Dvb-T2, and I want to make it working on a Openpli 4 (Gstreamer 0.10.36), kernel version:

3.6.0

Where can I find drivers/firmware form my kernel ?

Actually on my decoder I use an old RTL2832U DVB-T device...

You can find firmware here: http://palosaari.fi/...are/MN88473/01/

But I needed kernel 4.10 to get it to work (et8000 SatDreamGR image).

Thanks. Actually if I insert the Usb dongle my box doesn't recognize the interface.. No dvb-t/t2 adapter recognized (if I insert my old RTL2832U adapter everything is ok)..
The firmware you posted is for DVB-t2? Basically what I should do? Copy firmware? And for kernel .ko? and anything more?

Thanks again

I have the DVB-T2 side of this working in OpenVix.

You need to modify the code that looks for USB tuners to look for frontends beyond frontend0 (which is trivial).

(This is on an Xtrend et8000 with kernel 4.10.6)
