Hi

Problem:
When recording one (coded) channel I can't watch other (coded) channels - only FTA - channels.

Setup:
OpenPli: 4.0
VU+ Ultimo
2 DVB-S tuners
Two cables to tuners
CCcam 2.3.0
CoolTV Guide
No cardsharing
Smartcard: Canal Digital Nordic (Denmark)

Until resently I was able to record several channels and watch others?
Then the VU+ somehow cleared ll settings (!?) and I reinstalled everything again. And the problem began...

When I go into CCcam PPanel - CCcam Smartcard Info, it shows:
card reader /dev/sci0: No or unknown card inserted
card reader /dev/sci1: No or unknown card inserted

Any help greatly appreciated

Regards Kenneth

If CCcam shows this I am surprised you can even watch 1 (encrypted) channel. Looks like card sharing...

Hi Erik

Nop - no cardsharing. Just tested the card in original Canal Digital box (Sagem) and recording while watcing another channel (both coded) was possible.

And you are not using a CI module by any chance? As Eric mentioned, if you see the "no, or unknown card detected" in both readers AND you do not use a CI module then it HAS to be cardsharing!!

If you use a CI module it will result in the errors you describe. Your CI can handle only 1 stream! Quick solution: take the card out of the CI module and place it in one of the build in card slots. Remove the CI from the CI slot.. Check if CCCam Info now shows the card.

Remove the CI AND chuck it into the bin.

Hi

I might not have expressed myself clearly enough :-(

I use the build-in smartcardreader for my (legit) Canal Digital card.

If the card is in the internal smart card reader AND

- the card is valid AND

- the card is working AND

- the card is the right way up in the card reader AND

- the card reader is working AND

- CCcam is running

THEN the card's entitlements should show up in the entitlements page of CCcam. If there are no entitlements, it is not going to work.

Hi Erik

- the card is valid AND Yes

- the card is working AND Yes

- the card is the right way up in the card reader AND Yes

- the card reader is working AND Yes

- CCcam is running Yes - suppose so since I can access via WebInf

And via WebInf I get the following output when clicking on button Entitlements:

card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted

card reader /dev/sci1
no or unknown card inserted

Regards Kenneth

In some readers you have to put the card with the chip upwards into the reader and in some not. So try to turn around the card.

The debug log from kenneth shows no card is recognised at all and no decryption takes place.

The only way I can explain this, is that you're really using a CI/CAM.

Or the sci-devices are disabled in the CCcam.cfg. But then there must be an entry in there as by default 2 devices are enabled. All this however really isn't related to the image.

Thanks for our replies, but problem still exists. Strange thing is that it worked flawlessly until 1½ month ago (until reinstalling OpenPli).

And since I can watch coded channels, the card seems to be working, so I'm really at my wits end - might try OSCam!?

Perhaps you are suffering from a bad build? The build from 16-12 was bad and caused the internal readers to stop working!! Try to install a version prior to 16-12 and check again...

This has NOTHING to do with your cardreaders etc .. this has all to do with the UPDATE ! I have 4 tuners and when you are indeed recording on 1 channel, no matter WHAT channel, the OTHER TUNERS ALL GO BLACK ! EVEN THE FTA ONES  -> BLACK, NOIR , ...

solution -> restore old backup from backup suite and all working fine again.

I am actually thinking not to press that update button ever again .. .:)

Even removing it myself from the menu , better idea :)

So do NOT update if you have multiple tuners

Cheers

All VU's need to be flashed due to a kernel update. Updating doesn't work.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.
