I was recovering my settings from back up and I didn't wait long enough thats it

Here my experience with my Vu Ultimo.

 

1) I did not see I need to reflash and not upgrade so I try to upgrade and my Ultimo freeze at boot

2) I flashed it with last image 2014-12-21, the Ultimo started

3) my hard drive did not mount (it is detected but not mounted), I tried to mount it manually with no success (GlassyUtil says : no partition)

4) I initialised my =hard drive, now it works but, of course, I lost all my recordings

5) I added, using mount manager, my network shares, all are reconized but none are mounted

 

So my questions are :

 

1) What did I do wrong so I lost my hard drive during upgrade ? Am I the only one with this problem ? (I will have to flash 3 Vu Duo...)

2) how can I force the network shares to be mounted ?

try this in telnet

opgk install kernel-module-ext4
opgk install kernel-module-cifs
init 6 # reboot

they are not more precompiled in the kernel and you have them install by yourself

I just updated my VU+ Uno with OpenPLI 4 using SSH terminal and after reboot the tuner stops on boot with text"Stating" on display.  No GUI (HDMI) is shown and tuner do not start Ethernet interface and do not get an LAN IP so I am not able to try any SSH or Telnet login.  Any suggestion where to start is most appreciated.

Flashing tuner with "OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuuno-20141220_usb" did not work well as tuner started with factory default without reading autobackup data on HDD.  After starting to set things up again it turns out that this OpenPLi version is unable to mount the HDD (Western Digital green 1.5T) and also I assume that is the reason for tuner on first-time-after-flash-boot backup config from HDD was not read.

At this time I solved this by flashing tuner with "OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuuno-20141212_usb".  As usual, everything then worked except EPG and SoftCam that needed to be setup again.  (possibly because of old backup from OpenPLi 3)

My worries that my HDD was broken was at least not the case.

 

Hopefully this can be fixed in a future firmware, but now Christmas is closing and I wish everyone the best Christmas ever, although I know that what people want the most for Christmas this year can not be bought for money.  Special Christmas greetings goes to the OpenPLi programmer hoping they are able to forget about C++ code and bugs and instead having a good time with family and friends !

Thank erkman, I will try it as soon as possible. I left for holidays 2 hours after crashed/flashed my box....
