What do you mean?

My stb's firmware isn't openpli based and I have to update plugin and sources manually.

And it are those "other" plugins that are sometimes badly programmed, and currently completely overload the Rytec servers, causing two of them already go to offline.

Which is why the sources are no longer published

Plugin makers can contact Rytec to get the sources, and will get them after the plugin has been vetted. It may for example not contain continous update checks (like every 5 minutes or so), it may only download once a day, it must not contain a retry loop, it should not download between 2 and 5 GMT, etc.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hello, I use EpgImport with VTi on Vu+ Ultimo and recent weeks it no longer works.
I think my "rytec.sources.xml" file is not updated.
Can I have the most recent? Thank you. Sincerely

Minkh

Update the XMLTVimport and try

if this does not helps update XMLTVimport-rytec (if it is available on VTi)

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport
opkg upgrade enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

If both does not help, contact VTi to update the plug-in.  They should aware of the need for an update by now, as this problem has been around for several weeks (almost a month)

Strange.  I checked the sources an I have only one CSAT Carabean in there.

I wonder where the second on is coming from.

Hi, I have read the FAQ and tried the opkg upgrade but I still get no events.  log shows lots of 404 errors so I'm guessing my sources file is out of date.  I'm a little bit lost as to what the current state of EPGImport is, does it no longer work at all until the Kodi spam thing is sorted?

I am on Openpli 3 but cannot switch to 4.0 as other plugins do not work for me on that as yet.

OpenPLi 3 is end of life, there are no updates online anymore.

Thought that might be the case, the importer appears to work but the sources are outdated I guess i.e. I just have the wrong URLs, is there any way just to update the sources?

just had a thought...would updating to Openpli 4.0 and grabbing the new sources file before downgrading back to 3.0 with the new sources file work?

I know this isn't the OpenATV support but if you copy \etc\xmltvimport\sourcelist from the latest Open ATV 4.2 or 5.0 images that will work for sub 4.2 images. I just succesfully did it for an OpenATV 4.1 image :-)

Doglover keep up the good work I'm sure many people would happily donate if you had a voluntary donation system in place. We all know servers cost money and traffic can be the most expensive part of that. Maybe in future xmltv updater plugins only have the option to update every 2 or 3 days. This might limit some of the traffic coming through.

Be carefull.  (although you cannot break anything)

This is only for the some versions of XMLTV importer.  Unfortunately I do not not know which image use which version.

OpenPLi uses the original version.

But some other images use the OpenAlliance version which works slightly different.  On these images you use the above mentioned update.

Therefore I always recommend to update the XMLTV importer from the feed of your image.

I will change the source file.   But the update may not be immediate.

In the mean time,  you can copy the attached file to /etc/epgimport

Then you can use this source.  (select ExUSSR)

I think it is necessary to insert a  timer and source control, so that if a source is off, you switch to the next source

I think it is necessary to insert a  timer and source control, so that if a source is off, you switch to the next source

XMLTV import does this automatically.

Crossepg uses only one source.  If you cannot download from that source, you have to refresh the sources (or Update the Rytec sources) manually.

This could however be automated.  But Crossepg is not maintained by OpenPLi.

The preferred XMLTV importer is XMLTV import.

OpenPLi version:  http://sourceforge.n...ci/master/tree/

OE-Alliance version: https://github.com/o...nce/XMTV-Import

Crossepg:  https://github.com/o...plugin-CrossEPG
